Christmas Cover-up

GIVEAWAY
EASON, LYNETTE
CHRISTMAS COVER-UP

Her stolen sister...

Seven-year-old Lucy Randall had been kidnapped in broad daylight fourteen years ago, and now Detective Katie Randall is determined to solve her sister's case. Her only option is to team up with the man whose family hates her. Former FBI agent Jordan Grey knows the beautiful cop isn't to blame for his brother's death, but he can't risk causing his parents more pain by falling for Katie. He'll have to focus on finding Lucy. But when Katie and Jordan uncover the truth, will this kidnapper turn killer?

Family Reunions: Bringing loved ones back together

My Review:

A solid case and heart-stopping suspense -- both Eason trademarks -- make this book a page turner from the get go. I have to say though, that what I really appreciate about this author is the way she manages to marry suspense and romance. It's a delicate balancing act that Eason has a gift for. She finds  a way to create intimacy between her readers and her characters while still keeping a fast-paced, action-riddled plot. But in the midst of all that suspense, I felt an emotional connection with Katie and Jordan. I basked in the romantic pauses that added depth to their story and made me a more committed reader. An exceptional read that will keep you on your toes even while curling them!

    1. I know -- sometimes the suspense dominates the romance and I'm left feeling a romantically deflated. :-) Eason does such a good job finding the right balance -- even in her shorter books like the Love Inspired line. Good luck, Heidi!

  13. That balancing act between a thriller and romance is definitely not easy. I have not read anything by Lynette before, but I have heard great things as well. Do you think this is a book that stands well alone? I noticed that there is character history.

    1. It definitely reads well as a standalone, Kelly. The history between the hero and heroine give them a connection that helps build the romance...and complicate it. Good luck!
