Taken Hostage

GIVEAWAY
REDWOOD, JORDYN
TAKEN HOSTAGE

A Deadly Ransom

When neurosureon Regan Lockhart's daughter is kidnapped, the abductors want to make a deal for the little girl's life. If she wishes to ever see her child again, Regan must hand over the virus she uses in a radical cancer treatment. But bounty hunter Colby Waterson can't let her trade the cure, which is his sister's last hope. He's already lost a wife and baby, and he won't lose anyone else. But when a mistake leads both him and Reagan into the hands of the bad guys, the kidnappers up their demands. Now Regan must create a biological weapon or her daughter dies. For Colby, no case has ever been this personal. He'll need every skill he's got, because only he can save both his sister and the woman he's growing to care for.

My Review:

Not your mother's Love Inspired Suspense! :-) I think I can honestly say that Taken Hostage is one of the most unique LIS novels I've read. There's an edgy desperate vibe to the story right from the start. And the medical research angle was really interesting -- and frighteningly all too real. Tensions run high from start to finish as Regan and Colby fight impossible odds to save those they love most -- and in the process find the kind of enduring love dreams are made of.

  1. Funny thing, I just read this yesterday, finishing it way too late last night and reviewed it today...it's a one sitting book in my opinion! Could not put it down for the life of me and was dragging today, lol! Both of her books were one sitting reads. I love, love, love suspense with a medical edge. Can't get enough :-)

  2. Oh yea, Jordyn is a Pediatric ER nurse and has a vast array of medical knowledge & many years of experience!
She also has a blog especially for authors who want to write medically authentic stories. She's quite an impressive person and writer :-)

    1. I knew that she was an ER nurse but I didn't know about her blog for authors. How cool is that? Have you read her Bloodline Trilogy published by Kregel? I've read Proof and Poison -- very edgy. Psychological Thrillers -- Criminal Mindish. Definitely kept me up at night 'cause I'm a scaredy cat. LOL

  3. I love LIS books. I also worked as a surgical tech assisting doctor's in surgery (passing instruments and/or retracting tissue) and I miss it. When I can read a book that contains anything medical I am intrigued. Thank you for the chance to win Jordyn's book.

    Blessings,
    Cindy W.
