More Than a Marriage

My Review:

This is another book that was brought to my attention during the last Reader's Choice Week. Love you guys and the new titles you share with me!

Isn't this a pretty cover? Very distinctive from anything out there, especially in the Amish genre. The pretty lilac colour  makes me smile and invites me to stay awhile. Which I did to immense reader satisfaction.

I think this might be the first time I've read a novella set where all the stories are written by the same author.  Lillard takes her readers back to the Amish community in Wells Landing, Oklahoma which is the setting for six of books in the aptly titled Wells Landing series. You don't need to have read those books as these three stories read fine as standalones though they share some of the same characters from the series.

Love the way each novella centers around a quilting circle and how the members look out for each other. They gently insert themselves into three rocky romances much to the delight of this reader. Funny, sweet and poignant.

    1. Oops is right. I had it scheduled for tomorrow along with tomorrow's review. LOL

Amy Lillard is a really good author but just know that she writes in different levels of...intimacy, I guess? She categorizes her books really well on her blog. All her Amish books are completely clean. Then she has a second level where the books have implied love scenes and a third level where the books are sensual romance. I appreciate that she has defined that and you can look up clean romance quite easily on her website. Plus she has a new Amish mystery series coming out which sounds fun for sure and for certain. :-) Good luck, Trixi.

    2. Certainly good information to know! I didn't realize that about her, but then again I wouldn't because I haven't read anything of hers yet. I'll have to keep that in mind!

  2. Agree with you on the cover. I was immediately drawn to it because of the color. Any shade of purple is my favorite color. :)

I love Amish stories and really enjoy reading Amy LILLARD. I've not read this particular one and would very much like to.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy!

    1. I'm in awe of 'real quilters' aka the ones who actually hand-stitch them. I'm more of a craft quilter...or was. Loved creating the patterns and watching a piece take shape but then I made into a duvet cover or machine stitched it. LOL Good luck, Donna.
