Credible Threat

GIVEAWAY
WOODHAVEN, HEATHER
CREDIBLE THREAT

No safe place

Someone wants accountant Rebecca Linn -- the granddaughter of a federal judge -- dead, and it's Deputy US Marshal Kurt Brock's duty to figure out why and protect her. But her powerful family insists Kurt keep his relationship with Rebecca strictly professional...no matter how much he's drawn to the feisty, fast-thinking beauty. Rebecca is sure the suspicious evidence she uncovered in her latest auditing case has put a target on her back. But staying ahead of those out to silence her is bringing her dangerously close to Kurt -- and putting both their careers on the line. With the attacker closing in, can Rebecca and Kurt survive long enough to reveal the would-be killer's secrets?

My Review:

Spine-tingling good! Rebecca has moxie for all she's a mild-mannered accountant. She holds her own in any number of intense situations and earns the respect of her US Marshall protector....and a whole lot more. But Kurt has been warned off his beguiling protectee so he's all business. Um...yeah...that works out well. Not! Cue tons of warm and melty moments that leave a reader on romantical tenterhooks. Add in ever-present danger and a puzzling mystery that needs solving and you get a riveting read that will enthrall the most discerning of armchair sleuths. Sweet perfection in 217 pages.

  5. Suspense is my favorite genre! I always feel bad when I have to stop even for a moment because then I’ve left the characters in a bad situation and they can’t get out of it until I continue reading.
