Oath of Honor

GIVEAWAY
EASON, LYNETTE
OATH OF HONOR

A murdered partner. A missing brother. Will Isabelle's silence protect those she loves...or delay justice?

Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. She knows they'll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.

Izzy is determined to discover exactly what happened, and her investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll -- including someone from her own family. With her dead partner's brother Ryan, a handsome homicide detective, shadowing her every move, Izzy's head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side?

My Review:

Eeeeepppp!! A new Lynette Eason series featuring a law enforcement family. Eeeeeeepppp!!!! This is me fangirling over a reading future of stellar romantic suspense. Because now that I've finished Oath of Honor I am more than ready for Called to Protect, the next book in the series but it doesn't release until the summer. Sob! But it also features a K-9 angle. Yay! Okay -- deep breaths -- focus on the review at hand not on a book in the future even though the publisher provides a tantalizing sneak preview of book two at the end of this one. Eeeeepppp!

Seriously -- Lynette Eason has a scary, crafty imagination and would excel as a career criminal if she put her mind to it. :-) Thankfully, she's targeted her uncanny villainous tendencies to fiction which delights her readers and keeps her out of prison.

The suspense is an intricate tangle of knots and dangling threads. Lots of tension as danger looms and Izzy struggles with who she can trust. Cue lifetime friend Ryan, a fellow cop and brother of Izzy's slain partner. They both have a huge stake in this game and not a whole lot of time to set things to right. The whole book plays out in just under a week so think fast-paced with plenty of action.

They both harbor some unrequited attraction at the start of the story. A five-year-old Ryan even visited baby Izzy in the hospital just after her birth. Their families have been close their entire lives but with Ryan a full five years her senior, they mostly moved in different social circles. Love the shared memories that bind them together and provide a familiar starting point for their deepening friendship. As always, Lynette Eason perfectly balances romance and suspense.

A nail-biting thrill of a start to the Blue Justice series.

    1. You can't go wrong with Lynette Eason,CC. Only this one isn't the K-9 one -- that's coming out in the summer. Izzy's sister, Chloe is a K-9 officer...er...had a K-9 partner. Hank. We meet him in this one but their story is in book two. Good luck!
