Rodeo Family
VANNATTER, SHANNON TAYLOR
RODEO FAMILY
Tori Eaton is ready to start over...
She's beginning a new chapter in Aubrey, Texas, away from her abusive ex-boyfriend. As she picks up the pieces of her broken life, Tori's surprised at the helping hand the church's new son director, Brant McConnell, offers her, and at the warm emotions he inspires.
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
Brant is drawn to Tori. And as their friendship grows, so do his feelings for her. But Tori is still hounded by her past, and the walls she's built around her heart are high. Can he convince the wounded beauty that he's exactly the kind of man she needs -- and deserves?
My Review:
Starting over is never as cut and dry as we expect it to be but Tori's determined to cling to the hope of a fresh start even though her past seems to be shackled to her. A contemporary love story that celebrates the transformation that comes from living a Christ-centered life. That doesn't mean there aren't troubles aplenty and Tori struggles through so much 'stuff' that my tummy churned in sympathy throughout the whole read. Vannatter definitely engaged my emotions as I walked in Tori's shoes for a time. And I'll admit to swooning more than a bit over steadfast Brant's stalwart friendship that blossoms into a special kind of love. Blissful sigh. Reader satisfaction guaranteed.
My thanks to the author for gifting me with a copy of this book.

And Shannon writes it all so well. Good luck, Trixi.
DeleteI love to read books about starting over. We can overcome and get past the bad with the help of God.

And I find it really helps broaden my perspective. A reminder that we are all our Father's children and he loves us equally regardless of what we have done or are currently doing. Absolute grace all the way round. Good luck, rubynreba.
DeleteLooks Great I would love to read one of Shannon's book. Thanks for the chance to win a copy iamabho (at) gmail (dot) com
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Linda. Good luck.

That's the intention, Diane. LOL Good luck!
DeleteIt's a shame that this one has such an old-fashioned cover. I would probably pass this one in a bookstore without even giving a second glance. Thanks for bringing up the good stories!
ReplyDeleteDianna
This is a very typical cover for Heartsong Presents. That line is now defunk (just) but Shannon is writing for Love inspired now so it's all good. Good luck, Dianna.
DeleteWhen you reviewed Shannon's book, Reuniting With the Cowboy, you had me wanting to read the rest of her previously published "rodeo" books. I have Rodeo Queen, but curious about the rest. And many of them are a good ebook price right now. tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteYes, the line is finished so I think it's hard to come by the actual books. Maybe in the discount section of a Christian Bookstore. But they are available as ebooks through Amazon and, as you say, at a good price. Good luck, Terrill.
DeleteSounds great. Thank you!
