My Review:
Debut alert! And what a page-turner! I am definitely a Jacqueline Adam fan forever! She captures the kind of heart-in-throat angst that I love and right from the very first page. As we're getting to know Cassie we sense that something foreboding is on the immediate horizon...and it is! Eeepp!!! What a great action-filled opening scene!
So, Cassie's been in witness protection for quite a while now. It's made her more cautious and closed off than she'd like. But she finally feels some comfort and hope in the small town she's settled in. Even made some friends, established a business and dated a guy she could get serious about. Except that guy is in law enforcement and he senses she's hiding something which doesn't bode well for developing trust. So they break up and it's hard but Cassie still has her restaurant and her friends...until it's all threatened. Again.
Cue the creepy stalker music, grab some comfort chocolate and be prepared to become spellbound by this edge-of-your seat read. And the romance is just as nail-biting as the suspense! Incredibly well done! A read-in-one-sitting extravaganza.
