My Review:

Phew! What a gripping opening scene. The heart-in-throat, must remember to breathe kind. Nothing like getting shot down over a remote part of a national forest to get the adrenaline pumping. :-) And the intense, no-nonsense park ranger coming to the rescue didn't do anything to bring my blood pressure down. 

There's all kinds of energy surging through this romantic suspense -- from being on edge over fear of discovery to fighting off swoon attacks over the aforementioned park ranger. What an awesome way to start out an action-packed suspense novel! 

Industrial espionage and treachery, wilderness survival, characters with back stories that bring depth to their love story. Vanhorn delivers a nail-biting edge-of-your-seat escape read of epic proportions.

My Review:

Forensic Anthropologist? Cold case? Yes please! Can it get any better? Only if someone wants to stop the anthropologist from digging into the past (ha, get the pun?!) There's a bit of a thriller vibe going on here as a very determined stalker type keeps Laney in the crosshairs. Cue the creepy music, grab some comfort chocolate and prepare to be enthralled.

Oh, and did I mention this is also a reunion romance? Eeeep, how can so many of my favourite tropes turn up in one story? Reading nirvana, that's what this is. Laney and Ryan were so young and dealing with a horrific tragedy and, well, Laney bolted. Loved seeing into her past as the author gradually reveals it one tantalizing snippet at a time. And, of course, facing their past frees them to explore a future together. Cue the toe curls and get ready for an epic happily every after.

My Review:

Whoa! What a stellar Love Inspires Suspense debut from Kellie Vanhorn! The action driven plot kept me on the edge for the entire read. I was riveted right from the gripping opening scene through to the swoonworthy epilogue. I feel like one very indulged, very happy reader. :-)
