Rancher to the Rescue

GIVEAWAY
JAMES, ARLENE
RANCHER TO THE RESCUE

First comes rescue...then comes love at the Three Brothers Ranch.

Coming to the aid of a woman in her broken-down car, Jake Smith finds the answer to his childcare problems. Kathryn Stepp needs a job, and the widower needs a nanny for his son. As they help each other, Jake is caught between attraction and his refusal to marry again. But sometimes a woman doesn't just fall for a hero -- she rescue him right back.

My Review:

First of all -- love that cover. It looks so candid and really fits the story. Second -- I adore a good rescue story and this is definitely in that category. Kathryn's distress is palpable when she meets Jake for the first time. Jittery, anxious, overwhelmed...I was nearly hyperventilating on her behalf! And there's Jake, all macho and clueless in an endearingly impatient way. It takes Kathryn a while to realize that Jake doesn't mean her any harm. Even longer to figure out that he really might be too good to be true. Love her shell-shocked wonder at the neighbourliness of the Smith clan and the way they take over her life! And little Frankie's boisterous exuberance for his 'KKay' adds an extra zest to the story. This is a second chance romance that's worth wading through the gnarly bits in order to reach the HEA. Page-turning romantical perfection.

The Rancher's Answered Prayer

GIVEAWAY
JAMES, ARLENE
THE RANCHER'S ANSWERED PRAYER

A single mom. A bachelor cowboy...and an inheritance forcing them to share Three Brothers Ranch.

According to the will, single mom Tina Kemp's stepfather left her his house, but his nephew, Wyatt Smith, inherited the ranch -- including the land the house stands upon. With neither willing to give up their legacy, they must find a way to make it work. Can these adversaries possibly share a home without falling for each other?

My Review:

Snap. Crackle. Pop. That's the fireworks going off every time Wyatt and Tina step into a room together! At first it's open hostility and then it's something much more dangerous. Still grinning just thinking about some of their tussles.

What a great intro to a new series! James gives lots of page time to all three brothers and I love the dynamics between them. Wyatt is the sage and steady older brother who is always ready to step in and support Jake and Ryder in whatever form they need. So when they inherit a cattle ranch and both his brothers are at a crossroads in their lives, they all quit the city and head to Oklahoma.

Loco Man Ranch is the perfect place for them to start over...unfortunately it is also the perfect second chance for Tina and her son. The Smith brothers may own the land but Tina has inherited the only house on the property. Yeehaw -- let the games begin! Snappy dialogue (sometimes snappish!) and lots of spirited give and take make this an easy read to speed through...but slow down and savor the wisdom and faith (and yes, a fight or two) courtesy of some engaging characters.

I am totally invested in these brothers and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for Ryder and Jake in future books. Hopefully book two will be out soon!

Her Montana Christmas

GIVEAWAY

JAMES, ARLENE
HER MONTANA CHRISTMAS

A Yuletide Bride

It's time for mistletoe and merriment—for everyone except Robin Frazier. As Jasper Gulch's centennial celebrations reach their festive conclusion, her guilt is only mounting. The shy historian is hiding something—something that will affect everyone in town. And the more time she spends with pastor Ethan Johnson, creating an old-fashioned Christmas for his church, the more she realizes what this secret is costing her. He's just the kind of man her heart longs for, and his kind brown eyes seem to say he might feel the same. Can she take a chance this Christmas and reveal who she really is—and what her heart is longing to say?

Big Sky Centennial: A small town rich in history…and love

My Review:

Fantastic conclusion to this wonderful continuity series. You don't need to have read the other books to enjoy this one though you are introduced to quite a few characters at the beginning. Just go with the flow and you'll soon sort everyone out as well as a few key past events.

Yay -- I was right about Robin! The other authors have been teasing me with her back story -- or lack of -- while laying subtle little hints of what that might just be. Loved getting to know Robin and gleeful that Ethan finally finds his match. Their romance is tentative at first, but Ethan soon becomes a man with a mission in true swoonworthy fashion. Robin is tempted and torn and an emotional basket case before she finally lets go of her secrets. And Ethan struggles with his own demons from the past. A tumultuous romance with depth and spirit and a beautiful conclusion to this much loved series.
