SNOWBOUND WITH THE COWBOY

She's here to stay. He plans to leave. Can a snowstorm bring them back together?

Returning home to open a veterinary clinic, the last person Sara Branson expects to find in town is Tate Langford -- the man she once loved. But the injured rodeo star has no intention of staying, and their families don't get along. So when a snowstorm strands Sara and Tate together, why can't she stop wishing their reunion could turn permanent?

Rocky Mountain Ranch

My Review:

I have no idea how I missed this series but you can bet I'll be backtracking and reading the first two books! I love these Langford brothers and I need to catch up on Jess and Devin and how they came about their happily ever afters. It looks to be a whole series of second chance love stories. Eeep!

So, aside from crushing over the second chance romance angle, I might have fallen hard for all the adorable rescue pets Sara has accumulated...including the quirky parrot with a penchant for rapping out Hamilton lyrics every waking hour. Snicker. Love Sara's heart for needy animals and that it's not just talk, but lots of action. And Trent doesn't bat an eye when the need arises. That right there makes him hit the top ten on my swoonworthy heroes list. :-)

A slow-build romance accompanied by a lot of soul searching paired with oodles of animals makes for a great contemporary romance. And bonus for Rocky Mountain Ranch fans --  previous series heroes and heroines get a good bit of page time in this one.

Montana Mistletoe

GIVEAWAY
MONTANA MISTLETOE

Wanted: a nanny for Christmas
A Rocky Mountain Ranch novel

The only job Abby Halliwell can find in her Montana hometown is temporary nanny to two mischievous little girls. But it's on her ex-boyfriend Jess Langford's ranch. Jess needs help raising twins suddenly left in his care, so he and Abby are determined to be professional. But between unexpected holiday happenings and two mischievous matchmakers, will their business arrangement turn into something more?

My Review:

First book in a new series by Roxanne Rustand and it looks like it's going to be cowboy centered! Yeehaw! Jess makes a great first Rocky Mountain Ranch hero. There's something about a cowboy who opens his heart and home to abandoned twins and the man is completely smitten. There's nothing he won't do for those little sweethearts even if it means hiring the woman who stomped all over his heart and left it in smithereens twelve years ago. He still hasn't picked up all the pieces. But Abby is the only nanny candidate he has so....cue the tumultuous romance!

Abby is just as reluctant to work so closely with Jess -- the guy who broke her heart all those years ago! Such a great setup for a second chance romance! Because, while there are no misunderstandings about what broke them apart there's definitely confusion over how much it hurt them both -- and why. A little bit of miscommunication but mostly not having the maturity to work towards a compromise. So now they are thrown together, living and working in the same house and the yearning is palpable! Sucked me right into the story as I held my breath waiting for one of them to open up and make way for some forgiveness and healing. Love it when a romance twists me up in knots!.

Captivating secondary characters including Lollipops and Poofy :-) bring this love story to life! And then there's the Christmasy stuff -- heartwarming and yuletide-cheering -- a bit of sweet holiday perfection to brighten a long winter's night!

GIVEAWAY

FALLING FOR THE RANCHER

The Cowboy's New Family

All veterinarian Darcy Leighton wants is a good life for her daughter. But when the vet practice she hopes to inherit is bought out from under her by newcomer Logan Maxwell, she stands to lose her position completely.

Recovering from a bad breakup, the handsome cowboy wants a fresh start -- one that doesn't include working with a woman he's undeniably attracted to. No stranger to heartbreak, Darcy has reservations of her own, but she can't walk away from this job. She'll just have to convince Logan to take a chance on her...and believe that what they have together is strong enough to last.

Aspen Creek Crossroads: Where love, faith and healing meet

My Review:

Woot -- this is me doing ecstatic back flips over both a veterinarian hero and heroine in one story. My critter lovin' heart is all aflutter -- even if Dr. Logan Maxwell didn't make the best first impression. I was squarely on Darcy's team from page one and, frankly, Logan poses a threat to her future happiness right out of the gate so that got my dander up.

Turns out he's just a misunderstood hero with a gnarly backstory that is slowly revealed as the story progresses. My heart thawed a bit. And when his innate compassion and kindness kept slipping past his defenses, well, my heart softened a bit more. But what really dissolved me to mush was a certain scene between Logan and an abused dog. Be. Still. My. Heart.

Darcy's focus is clear and simple -- build a secure future for her daughter. That does not involve falling in love with her new (and cantankerous) boss. These two have personal battles to fight before they can begin to envision a future together and that makes for one glorious read!

This is the fifth book in the Aspen Creek Crossroads series and the first book I've read by Roxanne Rustand but you can bet I'll be sure to get a hold of her earlier books!
