My Review:

I do this thing where I set my timer for 30 minutes to read and then I get up a do something physical for at least a half hour before I allow myself to get back to another 30 minute reading stint. So, I settled into my reading chair, set the timer and about jumped out of my skin when it went off at a particularly tense moment in the plot. lol Once I'd scraped myself off the ceiling I went right back to reading and didn't stop until I reached the end. So much for my good intentions about keeping physical throughout the day! My heart rate had a workout just the same though, so I guess that's something. :-)

What an absorbing read! Well written, the words just flowed through my mind creating images and emotions and there just wasn't a single moment where I wanted to put the book down. Emotionally gripping, intriguing mystery, and a special connection between the hero and heroine were just impossible to ignore. A great example of Love Inspired Suspense at its finest.

My Review:

Nothing like coming to on a cliffside with absolutely no idea of how you got there! That's how this page-turning suspense starts out in all it's bullets flying, desperate game of cat-and-mouse glory. Phew! Readers might want to pace themselves for this one.

I'm always surprised by the never ending ways authors can spin the amnesia trope and Connie Queen does a great job of making it seem fresh and new. Made for such a compelling read as I waited as anxiously as Annie to figure out her past!

And having Riggs -- hello, FBI agent turned cowboy -- by her side through all the chaos made the read that much sweeter. Plus, this hero comes with a canine partner -- Aussie shepherd Shotgun who turns his paw at just about anything from babysitting to guarding to fighting off wild life. :-) Love the wilderness elements in this suspense as well -- it ups the danger factor! There have been quite a few LIS novels with wilderness themes lately and I'm liking it!

My Review:

I have to confess that it's the cover that drew me in first. That forlorn little teddy bear with his reindeer antlers looking all lost and abandoned. Tugs at your heartstrings and sends a shiver up your spine all at the same time. 

There's a chilling creep factor to the opening scene that morphs into a flurry of danger and action. An abandoned toddler, a missing-presumed-dead sister and the tragic history of a closed case that never felt right to Brandi. In fact, the emotional fallout was at the root of her split with Rhett. But now, fate has brought them together again, puzzling over the same issues that pulled them apart...only this time they're coming up with more questions then answers all while being pursued by a relentless killer.

A reunion romance paired with a twisty-turny suspense that leads Brandi and Rhett on a race against time -- to solve the mystery and possibly (probably, this is a Love Inspired Suspense after all) heal their broken hearts.

My Review:

Pppphhhhheeewwwwwwww! she says, inhaling a much needed lungful of air after completing this breath-snatching suspense. I think my heart flat-lined in a couple of places. Great pacing, action-filled, creepy-sense-of-ever-present-danger kind of a read. Love Kylie's kick-butt, get-the-job-done US Marshal attitude which is kinda hard to hide beneath her nanny persona. Luke's equal parts intrigued and confused and -- gah, if these crazed bad guys ever drop their pursuit he might just figure it out. The subterfuge was fun and then it imploded and Kylie and Luke have to learn to work together -- and rebuild trust --  in order to put an end an unstoppable criminal. Fantastic debut! Looking forward to reading many more books by Connie Queen!
