MOORE, MARY
BEAUTY IN DISGUISE
After her scandalous first Season, Lady Kathryn needs a new beginning. Concealing her stunning hair and sapphire eyes beneath a dowdy facade, she's grateful to earn her keep as companion Kate Montgomery. Until she comes face-to-face with her past in Lord Dalton, the only man she has ever loved.
The debutante Dalton fell in love with years ago was beautiful beyond compare. The gentle, mysterious young woman he encounters at a country house has qualities he now values more highly—until he learns of her deception. Kate has broken his heart not once, but twice. Can faith help him see that love, like true beauty, always comes to light?
My Review:
Sheer delight doesn't begin to describe the thrill I felt as I devoured this Regency romance. Moore has an uncanny ability to capture the essence of the period in minute detail. I felt like I'd been dropped into Regency England and I didn't want to get out!
Masterful pacing keeps this read a real page-turner. In fact it is so well done that I often had to pause just for the luxury of imagining my own conclusion to a scene. There's nothing like scene savoring to send this reader into a euphoric tailspin!
Beauty in Disguise is a must read for Regency lovers everywhere!

Oh Amy -- it's a fantastic read! And check out the author's first book, The Aristocrat's Lady. It was published about a year ago, I think. Amazing! Good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteThis cover is so very different than the other LIHs so that was intriguing, sounds like a good book.

The cover is very different, isn't it Melissa? It has a real air of mystery to it. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI love your comment that you felt like you had been dropped in Regency England! Thanks for the chance to win this book.

Ah Diana -- so not fair to have the flu during Christmas. That should be outlawed. Hope you're feeling better. :-(
ReplyDeleteJanet, the Love Inspired line keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? This one is exceptional!
Good luck you two.
I enjoyed Mary's book The Aristocrat's Lady and I'm so excited to see she has a new Regency romance to sweep me away. Lovely review, Kav, I can't wait to read Beauty in Disguise. Add me please!

This one is just as good as The Aristocrat's Lady, Merry. Moore really has this Regency market down to a T, in my humble opinion. I just can't get enough! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove these books, thank you for hosting this giveaway.

ReplyDeleteFinally, Kav, at the end of 8 days of the flu, am starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel! You're so right -- it should be outlawed especially at Christmas! Hope yours was wonderful, tho! Thanks for the well wishes, too!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're on the mend Diana!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Maxie and Veronica!
The cover on this one is terrific.

ReplyDeleteYesterday Amy Campbell emailed me to tell me she had won a copy of Beauty in Disguise. I didn't recognize her name, so I looked through my book give aways and still didn't find her. I emailed her to make sure she got the book soon because I had somehow missed recording that one and she told me she had won it on your blog!! I had no idea you had even reviewed the book. I wish I had known about your site a year ago!
Thank you so much for your kind words about Beauty in Disguise. I appreciate it so much and am extremely happy when I find another Regency fan!
Thank you for your review and thank you for the service you provide in bringing all of us LI's and LIH's to the attention of your readers. (And for bringing some other great reads to my attention!)
I've got you bookmarked now, so I'll be back plenty. Thanks again!
