GRAY, SHELLEY SHEPARD
EVENTIDE
Eventide is the riveting conclusion to The Days of Redemption trilogy by Shelley Shepard Gray, celebrated author of tender Christian romance novels set in Amish country.
Honest and faithful Elsie Keim falls for her new neighbor, Landon, but she can’t bear to tell him the truth: She’s going blind.
Landon is enamored with Elsie. When Elsie’s brother Roman steps in and shares the truth of Elsie’s disease, Landon is floored. His job is demanding and takes him away from home, sometimes for days at a time. He wonders how he’d be able to keep up with his responsibilities and take care of Elsie.
In Eventide, three generations of the Keim family come together to make their dreams come true.
My Review:
I'm gobsmacked. Not quite sure if I can express how much I loved this conclusion to The Days of Redemption trilogy. I devoured it in an afternoon at the expense of laundry and housework! While Elsie and Landon's love story plays a prominent part in the plot, Gray has provided some wonderful healing moments with the rest of the Keim family -- characters I've grown to love over the course of the series. The author does an exceptional job of illustrating the blessings that come from facing relationship problems head on instead of running from them.
If you haven't read the first two books in the series, do not despair. Gray does a wonderful job of meshing characters and plots from previous stories. Eventide reads well as a standalone, however if you have read the other two books you will be euphoric by the conclusion of this one!

Facing relationship problems head on is hard for me to do. Love to read this - maybe it will help!!
ReplyDeleteThe author really develops that plotline through the whole series. The Keims were one dysfunctional family in book one. :-) Good luck rubynreba!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your recommendation I'm excited to start this series! Thanks for the review!
