Buried

GIVEAWAY

GODDARD, ELIZABETH
BURIED

Nowhere to hide

Fleeing to Alaska is the only option for Leah Marks after witnessing a murder. Afraid for her life, the legal investigator hopes a remote cabin will be a safe shelter. But the killer has tracked her to Mountain Cove. As he chases her into snow-packed Dead Falls Canyon, an avalanche buries them both. Saved by daring search and rescue specialist  Cade Warren, Leah longs to tell him the truth. But how can she, without bringing even more danger into Cade's life? Especially when they discover the killer is very much alive and waiting to take them both down.

Mountain Cove: In the Alaskan wilderness, love and danger collide

My Review:

A chilling suspense that will rattle your bones. (Yes, pun intended.) Love the Alaskan wilderness when I'm reading about it from under a down duvet in the comfort of a warm home. The howling wind outside added the perfect ambiance as I raced through Buried in one sitting. Not many good places to set this book down -- too many hair-raising adventures and scary stalker scenes to rest easy until you reach the end.

The suspense is intriguing, the romance exhilarating and Leah's faith in God is inspiring. She clings to Him despite the many disappointments she's experienced in life. That doesn't mean she's always secure and confidant. She's too human for that. And way too reluctant to put her trust in men, even when the Lord leads one to her in an earth shattering and timely fashion. Her struggle to apply her trust in God into other aspects of her life brings extra depth to the story.

Cade knows trouble when he sees it and Leah's the very definition of the word. He's in full rescue mode where she's concerned whether she likes it or not. Their clash of wills, and slowly developing relationship kept me on tenterhooks as much as the suspense did. A great wintry edge-of-your-seat read.
