Race to Win DVD Release
Race to Wind (originally titled Race to Redemption) is an inspirational, heart-warming story of hope and perseverance, even when the giant is tall. The film tells the story of a young woman who struggles to find the courage to compete in the race of her life after her father's devastating death. If she loses the race, her family will lose everything, including the legacy and home they worked so hard to build. If she wins, her life might just fall back into place!
My Review:
A clean, family-friendly horse-centric movie. Preteen girls will especially enjoy all the horse action.
A classic drama that exposes the struggles and grief of a family trying to move on after the death of the husband/father. In some ways the story unfolds in a predictable manner but I was surprised by a few unexpected twists too. One of the predictable elements is the truly vile villain but it was so much fun to hate him and finally be able to stand up and cheer when he gets his comeuppance that I didn't mind his cookie-cutterness. :-) Overall, Race to Win offers a solid story -- I just felt it needed more time to dig deeper into relationships and more fully develop plot threads. Fresh and appealing to young eyes but a bit stagnant for seasoned viewers.
My thanks to Graf-Martin Communications and Mongrel Media Inc. for providing me with an online screening of this movie.

What a fun idea! My first one is about a modern day cowboy/rancher who deals with horses. I think this will "fit".

Yes, A Love Like Ours by Becky Wade definitely fits the bill. Great choices all, CC. Good luck.

One more novella collection - Seven Brides for Seven Texans
ReplyDeletepattymh2000(at)yahoo(dot)com
Yes, novella's count and there have actually been a lot of cowboy ones. I've read Seven brides for Seven Texans and it's superb. The Christimas one sounds fun too. Good luck, Patty.
DeleteMy sister wants to enter 3 chances for this giveaway too, but for some reason she's unable to post comments. So I was wondering if I could post her comments for her even though it'll be put under my google account name? And then I'd just specify in each comment whether it's for me or her by putting whoever's name. Would that be alright?
ReplyDeleteYes that's fine, Elly. Just put her name at the very top of the comment for her selections.
DeleteI'd like to complete my "Wild At Heart" series by Mary Connealy, so my first pick would be "Tried and True" (2014)
ReplyDeleteThat movie sounds good, I'll have to see if I can obtain a copy from the libary! :-) I love good movie recommendations!

I love her as well...and I need to catch up on that series too. Good luck, Trixi.
DeleteRocky Mountain Sheriff – Tina Radcliffe (LI)
ReplyDelete(not sure if this counts; I can’t find exact date for publishing but Tina recently said spring)
jacsmi75 at gmail dot com
I can't find that title anywhere...not on Harlequin's website or Amazon. I was thinking maybe she's self-publishing it and it isn't up yet? The latest one in the Love Inspired line is Rocky Mountain Cowboy which came out January 2017
DeleteAnd finally a Love Inspired Historical that I'd pick because I fell in love with the cover; "Pony Express Christmas Bride (Saddles & Spurs)" by Rhonda Gibson. I hope this counts as a western themed.
ReplyDeleteteamob4 (at) gmail (dot) com
Definitely counts as western themed. I've read some of that series, must catch up on the rest. Good luck, Trixi.

DeleteYES! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Captive trail by Susan!!!!!!! It was GREAT! I don't recommend Cowgirl trail however, because I personally found it to be horribly inaccurate among other things. So sometimes she's hit or miss, but her plots are usually really good and intriguing! :)
DeleteIt does, doesn't it! :D I haven't read any of Stacy's books yet, but THAT BOOK DESCRIPTION!!! WOW!
:) Hugs, A

DeleteFun, as always, Kav. When you conduct a giveaway like this it helps me to see some of the books on my tbr that have gotten lost in the shuffle, as well as many newbies.
ReplyDeleteSince I finally purchased the first book in this series this past weekend, I'm selecting the second book AN UNCOMMON PROTECTOR by Shelley Shepard Gray. tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
I've been wanting to read this next book for some time. I'm not sure if this book is applicable. It takes place in the late 1800's and involves traveling west, but cowboys? Let me know, if not. BEYOND THE SILENCE by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse. tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteLast, but not least, NOW AND FOREVER by Mary Connealy. tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI'm soooooo gladyou mentioned Shelley Shepard Gray's new one -- I'm making an order with CBD and I forgot to add that one! Phew -- just in time! Thanks!
DeleteAs to Beyond the Silence...well, if they're traveling west they are bound to run into some cowboys somewhere, right? :-)
Good luck, Terrill.
Bwa ha ha!! That made me laugh! And you're absolutely right.
