His Amish Teacher

GIVEAWAY

DAVIDS, PATRICIA
HIS AMISH TEACHER

The Teacher's Choice

For Lillian Keim, instructing children in her one-room schoolhouse is as close to being a mother as she'll ever get. Lillian has a calling to be a teacher, and she won't give it up to marry. But her plans -- and her heart -- are at risk when she begins to feel more than friendship for lifelong pal Timothy Bowman. When Tim rescues Lillian and her class from a fire, the volunteer firefighter suddenly sees what he's been blind to all his life: he wants his friend as his wife. But something beyond her professional goals is holding Lillian back. He's got to unlock her secret before he loses his friend -- and his forever love.

The Amish Bachelors : These men finally meet their matches

My Review:

I absolutely love this series and these brothers! Quick to tease but just as quick to support one another. And I love the continuity of following the same family from book to book. This is #3 and -- woohoo -- #4 is coming out this June! I can't wait!!! But don't worry if you haven't read any of the other stories -- each reads well as a standalone too.

Friends to lovers is one of my favourite themes in romantic fiction and this one is superb. Love the banter and teasing that comes from the comfort of knowing each other for years. And Lillian and Timothy have perfected that kind of give and take. They practically finish each other's sentences. But it's never been about romance until an out of control fire shakes things up and has them looking at each other with a new perspective.

Of course it's complicated. The scary moments of fledgling love battle with the real fear of ruining a perfectly good friendship. And Lillian has her own personal reasons for discouraging Timothy. Especially in a time of uncertainty with an arsonist on the loose. Both Lillian and Timothy need to discover the power that comes from placing their hope in God's leading and trusting in his plan for their future.

  12. Patricia's Amish stories are just so good! I would love to read this new book in the series. I always love reading about a couple who starts off as friends. Love is right there in front of them, but they just don't know it yet!

    1. Yes -- and it's so tenuous because they don't want to mess with the friendship but once their eyes are open to deeper feelings they can't go back to being the same old friends anyway. Such a dilemma. Good luck, Maryann.

  14. Once upon a time, author Melissa Jagears highly recommended Patricia Davids as an all-time favorite author of hers. Since then, I have been slowly borrowing from the library and collecting the titles that they don't have from her back list. It's great to see another nice reivew from this series. ------ tlhcoupon(at)hotmail(dot)com
