My Review:
"The house had been ransacked." What a great opening line for a heart-stopping romantic suspense. It promises so much, even as it raises questions in a curious reader's mind. If my tummy wasn't flipping over the relentless attacks against Caroline and little Henry, it was flipping over a certain Detective who just happens to be an old love interest. The one that got away, though Caroline's heart is having a difficult time believing that it's really over. She's guarded. He's wary. But their past differences have to be put aside so they can deal with the ever present danger. Delicious tension -- both romantic and suspense -- amped up my reading frenzy and I devoured Hidden Legacy in an afternoon.

Ah yes, one of my favorite proses in a story, reunion of old loves! Adds that extra layer of tension in a suspense novel :-) New-to-me author, seems my LIS list is growing by leaps and bounds.

DeleteAwww,knowing the little boy's name is Henry brought a tear to my eye because I lost my 93 year old father a month ago and his name was Henry, too. Maybe older names are making a comeback? The book sounds wonderful, Kav. Thanks.

DeleteI like it when the H/h have a history in some of these shorter LI books. Especially, the suspense line since the romance is vying with the suspense for story time. For me, it helps make the romance more realistic and believable rather than rushed.
ReplyDeleteNo need to enter my name. Since LI's can be hit or miss in my local library system, I tend to order them when you draw attention to a lesser known author that my library might overlook. Thanks, Kav, for your commitment to reading a new author's work.
FYI, when ordering it, I noticed that you mis-typed the author's last name. It's Huggins rather than with an "i". I can see where that would be an easy typo to make since it Higgins is more common.
