Toxic Toffee

GIVEAWAY

TOXIC TOFFEE

A sweet tooth for murder...

Bailey King's in New York wrapping up a six-week shoot on her first cable TV show, Bailey's Sweets, when she gets a call from her Ohio town's resident busybody. With Easter around the corner, Bailey's been recruited to create a giant toffee bunny for the week long springtime festival that will also feature live white rabbits. But back home in Harvest, death becomes the main attraction when Stephen Raber keels over from an apparent heart attack -- with Bailey and Raber's pet bunny as witnessess.

Except it wasn't Raber's heart that suddenly gave out -- a lethal dose of lily of the valley was mixed into a tasty piece of toffee. Who'd want to poison a jovial rabbit farmer who reminded Bailey of an Amish Santa Clause? To solve the murder, she and her sheriff deputy boyfriend Aiden must uncover a twenty-year-old secret. She'll need to pull a rabbit out of a hat to keep a healthy distance from toxic people, including one venomous killer...

My Review:

If you like your cozies with a kick of quirky, Amanda Flower is the author for you. I'm loving this Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.Toxic Toffee is the fourth book (so enjoy the killer titles -- Assaulted Caramel, Lethal Licorice and Premeditated Peppermint!) but I think you could read this one as a standalone too.

Once again Bailey finds herself embroiled in a homicide case as the unofficial liaison between the Amish community and the police force. She can't resist searching for clues and matching wits with her deputy sheriff boyfriend. Aiden would just as soon Bailey keep out of it, but he has to admit, her unique skills bring results.

This Holmes County small town is full of  over-the-top eccentrics whose antics guarantee to mix up the mystery with a bit of humour. That includes Jethro the pet pig who practically runs the town. But there's always room for a little more quirky in one of Flower's cozies and she doesn't disappoint with the introduction of Puff, the pampered bunny, to the menagerie.

Look no further for your next fun (and zany) escape read. Toxic Toffee has you covered.
