ACCIDENTAL TARGET
On an icy road in the dead of night what she sees might get her killed.
Allison Moore can't deny what she sees -- a lifeless hand sticking out of a tarp in the back of a crashed pickup truck. Seconds later, she's on the run with a murderer on her heels. Nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted...except police sergeant Jackson Archer. But with someone set on silencing her, can Jackson keep his promise of protection?
My Review:
Eeep! Another stellar Love Inspired Suspense debut author! After reading Accidental Target, Theresa Hall is on my auto buy list now.
Love, love, loovvvvvve the gripping opening scene. Hall delivers all of the emotional turmoil I think I'd experience in the same situation Allison finds herself in. Panic. Disbelief. Terror! Her Good Samaritan act nearly gets her killed and she's a target from that point on. And I love that she can be snappy and teary and feisty -- all in a dizzyingly short time period. Jackson has his hands full trying to second guess her tempestuous nature. Which isn't Allison's norm but...well...nearly getting killed and being hunted down by an unknown assailant can do that do a girl. :-)
And then there's Jackson, reluctant hero full of heartbreak and grump. His blunt demeanor masks a broken past and Allison is just the woman to help put the pieces back together. If they can just evade the bag guys long enough to figure out who they are and then bring them down.
A breath-snatching page-turner of a read.
