BOOK NERDS AND BOYFRIENDS
A novella collection featuring:
Bookishly Ever After -- Emory Blake is the ultimate bibliophile. She'd take curling up with a good novel over a night on the town any day of the week. But then best friend Tate Woodby accuses her of living between the pages of her paperbacks instead of the real world, and makes a bet that will force her to experience the adventures of her fictional friends...instead of just reading about them.
Literarilly for Keeps -- Literature professor Ashleight Darmody never imagined her life would turn into a classic trope, but that's exactly what happens when her sister Claire calls with a bizarre request -- quickly find a fake husband. Already divorced from a man who turned out to be other than he claimed, Ashleigh now has to pretend to be blissfully married to a stranger for the next five days. But when the lines of fiction and reality blur with each tick of the clock, could a temporary deal turn into something for keeps?
Novelly Upon a Time -- Harper Jones prides herself on the impeccable research she does for her novels, so when early reviews come pouring in claiming her romance is inauthentic, her editor suggests pulling her nose out of books and getting some real-life smooching experience. But her plans to do just that are thwarted by her archnemesis from high school who has recently returned to town. Suddenly she's left with an impossible decision -- kiss her worst enemy or kiss her three-book contract goodbye.
My Review:
So.
Much.
Fun.
I think I blew my nose inside out from snort laughing. And then -- kapow -- Monzon would sucker punch me with something so profound that I was left reeling. Love the way this author is able to blend such tender, heart stirring moments into her rom/coms. And she touches on some sobering subject matter that is pertinent to Christians everywhere.
But, oh, the funny bits, are hilarious!!! I mean, what bibliophile wouldn't want to read about book nerds finally meeting their off-the-page, real-life heroes? Three bookish heroines I can completely relate to and the men who woo them. Happy, fan-girling sigh.

ReplyDeleteMaybe a light-hearted book is what can help get me out of the reading doldrums. It's so maddening to not have a story keep my interest lately :-(
ReplyDeleteBut....I have started "Undercurrent of Secrets" by Rachel Scott McDaniel, part of the Doors to the Past series put out by Barbour. So far it's kept my nose to the pages! You might enjoy it too Kav, since it's also a dual-timeline. 😊 I know you like those type of stories.
