Yukon Justice

GIVEAWAY

MENTINK, DANA
YUKON JUSTICE

Sabotage on a family ranch...this K-9's on the case.

When her estranged uncle attempts to sabotage her family's reindeer ranch K-9 assistant Katie Kapowski heads home to help save it -- and becomes his target. With their rocky past, Alaska State Trooper Brayden Ford and his furry partner are the last team Katie wants assigned to protect her. But with the ranch under siege, they must work together...or risk falling victim to a killer.

My Review:

Woohoo -- the seventh instalment of the Alaska K-9 Unit continuity series and I love the way each author has kept the flow of the over-arcing suspense going while providing another heartstopping suspense plot unique to every book. Each of these titles can certainly be read as standalones but I've so enjoyed these monthly trips up to Alaska...and meeting all the talented K-9s who do such a good job of outshining their human counterparts from time to time.

Like Ella -- a Newfie who hasn't met a puddle she doesn't love. Mentink knows how to write 'dog' and I'm still grinning and cheering over Ella's contributions to this story.

This suspense is unique in that we know right from the start who the bad guy is. The nail-biting comes from trying to anticipate his next nefarious move and, mercy, but he's relentless!

Katie and Brayden have a rocky work history so things aren't exactly comfortable when they are thrown together on this case. Katie needs protecting and Brayden is determined to fulfill the assignment with his heart still in tact. Ha! Like that's going to happen. :-)

And what better setting then a reindeer ranch for a pre-Christmas read? So much to love about this book and the whole series. Anxiously awaiting next month's final instalment.

  2. If it weren't for the dark ominous coloring of this cover, I would label this as cute & adorable! A reindeer farm and a big cuddly Newfie are a great combination. Knowing it's a suspense written by one of my favorite authors, definitely ramps up my interest!

    1. Yes -- there's something so magical about reindeers! As long as you don't think in terms of meat...that would put you on Santa's naughty list. Luckily this is a rescue ranch so, phew! :-) Good luck, rubynreba!

  7. Oddly enough, I read a Christmas novella a few years back about two sisters who owned a reindeer ranch. They're out there, I guess. You just gotta look for them. hehe

While I haven't read one single book from this LI mutlti-author series, It's Dana Mentink and I'm willing to forgo the overarching suspense story to simply read her entry. I tend to skip these multi-author LI series'. Aside from marriage, I can get overwhelmed by that kind of commitment. Lol.

    1. Hmmm....reindeer ranching sounds intriguing. I wonder if they check the calves for flying abilities? :-) I'm with you on not missing out on a Dana Mention novel but I do enjoy these continuity series. Good luck, Terrill!
