    1. Well, rats, it looks like Melissa Tag's book is only coming out in Kindle format. :-( Hope there will be a paperback at some point.

And your second choice -- debut author!!!! It does sound really good too! Thanks for contributing to my wish list, Rachael. Good luck!

    2. Melissa announced on her blog a couple of weeks ago that she was pushing the release later, because she was prioritizing family and friends first. :) Like her previous indie release, the paperback will probably come closer to the release date or right after.

    3. Oh, thanks, Terrill. As long as it comes out in paperback sometime I'm happy. Love all my 'in-the-know' peeps. :-)

  3. I don't read too many contemporary, but I did find these little gems on my search!

#1 Blue Ridge Sunrise by Denise Hunter~November 2017

Ever since reading Sweetbrair Cottage, I'm enthralled with this author. Why did I wait so long to read anything written by her?? I got a lot of catching up to do :-)

    1. Trixi, you just gotta read Barefoot Summer & Dancing with Fireflies in the Chapel Springs series! There's more in this series, but I only had time to read these two and they do well as stand-alones. Dancing with Fireflies was SUPER good, but I'm glad I read Barefoot Summer 1st to get acquainted with the characters. 😍

    2. I'm dittoing Diana. I was a Denise Hunter late bloomer and I still have to catch up on some of her books. Haven't read Sweetbriar Cottage yet. Arrrrgggh!

    3. Diane, I believe I have a couple of those on my shelf, plus I can borrow the rest from my Overdrive library system as it has the whole Chapel Springs series. I usually have so many review books that I don't often get to read for fun.

Kav, I think you would really love Sweetbrair Cottage. I'd put it as one of my top reads for 2017. Plenty of angst and things to work through between Noah and Josephine. It was an emotional roller coaster ride for me and really spoke to my heart about something I've struggled with for a long time. Don't you just love when God speaks to you through an authors words and helps you in Your own life??

She's definitely on my radar now :-)

    4. I read more contemporary, but I didn't read my first Denise Hunter book until 8 months ago - Barefoot Summer. I LOVED IT! The spiritual wisdom had me crying. Now, if I haven't read one of her books yet, I probably own it. Haha!

    5. That's what I love about Denise Hunter's books -- they are saturated in spiritual wisdom. Not preachy by any means -- but she speaks to my soul.

And yes, Trixie, I love when God speaks to me through fiction. And He does that a lot. I'm so grateful to author who listen to the promptings of the Spirit! You aren't the first person to say that Sweetbriar Cottage belongs in your top reads list. I need to read this one soon. And I will!

    6. Denise Hunter has so many good ones! Some of my favorites: Married Til Monday (last of Chapel Springs), Convenient Groom, Surrender Bay.

    7. I'm catching up on the books I missed through my library which is thankfully well-stocked in Denise Hunter books!

3.) Hometown Girl by Courtney Walsh

I really love Amazon's Christian imprint - Waterfall Press. If I don't purchase the paperback, the ebooks are always reasonably priced. Usually, no more than $3.99. Which reminds me, Kav. I know you liked Terrie Todd's first two books and her third, Bleak Landing just released today. I don't know why, but I really enjoy stories that take place during the Great Depression. If they're not too "Bleak." Bwahaha! Ugh! Sorry, I couldn't resist. But I truly do enjoy that era in historicals.

This is a collection which contains both historical and contemporary stories, so I assume this is okay for this category? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    1. Calico and Cowboys has 7 historical novellas and only one contemporary so it's better suited for the historical giveaway. Sorry. Choose another if you like. Good luck, Elly.
