The Watch on the Fencepost

GIVEAWAY

DIBIANCA, KAY
THE WATCH ON THE FENCEPOST

A watch that tells more than the time...

This award-winning mystery/romance is the ultimate puzzle! A mysterious gold watch propels Kathryn Frasier into a quest to prove her parents' recent deaths were not an accident. But when she solves the mystery behind the watch, she uncovers a dark family secret and stumbles onto a trail of cryptic clues that lead her to a remarkable cast of characters, all of whom had a connection to her parents: an actress with a talent for disguises, a politician with a secret of his own, and a handsome businessman who shows a sudden romantic interest in Kathryn. But can she solve the mystery before she becomes the next victim?

My Review:

Okay -- first re this giveaway -- since the book isn't available in paperback on BD and the ebook is currently on sale, I'm adding the second book in the series into the mix as well. So, you'll have a chance at winning two fantastically amazing mysteries. Woohoo! (And I'll be jealous because the second book isn't out in audible format yet.)

I wish y'all could see me right now because I'm jumping up and down in giddy bibliophile delight over this newly discovered author and her Watch series. I'm especially excited because this is also a Christian Fiction selection and you don't often find inspirational cozy mysteries so that has me all in a twitterpated state as well. :-) I can't wipe the Cheshire grin off my face.

I discovered Kay DiBianca in a Because...Fiction podcast (I have become totally addicted to that show!) And once the show was over I immediately jumped on audible and bought this book. The narrator did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life which made for some mighty fine compulsive listening. Happy sigh.

The Watch on the Fencepost is a mystery within a mystery, both cleverly entwined and complicated enough to give me and my sleuthing armchair a real workout. My light bulb moment came just in time for me to start screaming at the heroine not to...And, of course, she didn't listen, which is okay, really, since it made for a climatic ending.

There's also romance -- eeeppp! And a cute border collie sidekick! Double eeeepppp!!! And so many fascinating secondary characters that I need more stories! Now!!! And I love the inspirational influence that wraps around it all. I am super excited about this new-to-me author/series discovery. (Can you tell?)

  7. Sorry, for the backwards comment. I was having difficult with my comment posting and did a second trial with only my email info and then, of course, it posts fine.🙄 Lol. Real quick, I'm looking forward to a recommended new cozy author. I enjoy them, but have been sticking to historical cozies, lately. Clean, but not Christian fiction. Hence, the reason I was also excited for Amanda Flowers newest series.

    1. Argh -- sometimes blogger doesn't want to post my comments either. What's up with that?! Silly blogger! Yes, searching out clean cozies can be a challenge. I'm thrilled that it seems to becoming a genre in Christian Fiction now too. Good luck, Terrill!
