Body of Evidence

GIVEAWAY

HANNON, IRENE
BODY OF EVIDENCE

Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly has seen her share of unusual deaths in rural Missouri. But when she begins to notice a curious pattern in autopsies of elderly residents whose demise appears to be natural, she takes her concerns to Sheriff Nate Cox.

Nate is skeptical about the link Grace is seeing between the deaths - and her suspicions of foul play. But her persistence is compelling. Once she finally convinces him her theory is credible and they join forces to investigate, danger follows. Because exposing the truth could destroy several lives -- including Grace's.

Queen of Inspirational romantic suspense Irene Hannon closes out her bestselling Triple Threat series with this gripping tale of secrets revealed and romance sparked.

My Review:

This has been a fabulous series -- no surprise there, given the author! The books are loosely connected through the three Reilly sisters and I say loosely, because while there is plenty of sisterly bonding time in each novel, the books standalone and can be read out of order...if you like to go renegade like that. :-) But, oh my, the sister scenes are some of my favourite. Between quips and heart-to-hearts and movie trivia quotes...so much fun!!!! And provide some comic relief from the all the nefarious aspects of the suspense.

There's so much to love about that too. Like the way Hannon brings depth to her villains. They aren't a diabolically evil cliche, but rather, fleshed out characters with back stories that don't make what they do right, but do make their actions (well some of them) more understandable. And she gives us a nice mix of knowing some of the players and being in the dark about others. I also appreciate the 'real time' investigative aspects of the case. Oh, and the autopsy scenes were both gross and funny, :-)

That brings me to the very swoonable romantical elements of this story. Happy sigh. Nate and Grace are known to each other in a professional capacity, but they've never met and when they do, sparks fly! Love the stuttering stop/start momentum at the beginning. Hannon takes her time developing a bond and clearing the way for the possibility of more but she also diverts the course of true love with enough stumbling blocks to make it interesting.

A truly stunning conclusion to the 'Triple Threat' series. Can't wait to find out what this author has in store for us next!

Goal Update: #6 Stay current with a series.

  1. I had this one checked out from the library in October and didn't get a chance to read it. Now that we are in Ohio I need to get set up with the library here, but that's going to be several weeks as we try to settle. Can't wait to get my hands on this one though :) Great review, Kav! cilydav at hotmail dot com
