Swept Away

GIVEAWAY

CONNEALY MARY
SWEPT AWAY

When a cowboy focused on revenge encounters a woman determined to distract him there's going to be trouble in Texas!

Swept away when her wagon train attempts a difficult river crossing, Ruthy MacNeil isn't terribly upset at being separated from the family who raised her. All they've ever done is work her to the bone. Alive but disoriented, she's rescued by Luke Stone...so unfortunately, there are more chances to die in her immediate future.

Luke is on a mission to reclaim the ranch stolen from his family. But the men currently on the property won't let it go without a fight. Luke plans to meet up with friends who will help him take back the land, and since he can't just leave Ruthy in the middle of nowhere, she's going to have to go with him.

But the more time Luke spends around the hardworkingyoung woman, the more he finds himself thinking of things besides revenge. Will Ruthy convince him to give up his destructive path and be swept away by love?

My Review:

Rollicking good fun with enough romance and drama to completely distract the reader from her ordinary life. I know because I read right past my bus stop and ended up with a long walk home!

Connealy is a master of words and pacing. Measured phrases and lightning wit pair to deliver a story that just doesn't stop and that made Swept Away a compulsive read.

Love the multiple title tie-ins. I so love a clever title. And that isn't the only clever thing about this book. An intrinsic plot, substantial characters and whirlwind romance still have me smiling. Connealy delivers perfection once again -- and bonus this is only the first in a new series so fans have a lot more to look forward to.

  6. I have always wanted to read one of Mary's books, they are on my wish list. This book sounds great and I love books about cowboys and stories set in wagon train days. Something about that era draws me in. The name of the book is fitting also. Thank you for offering this book in a giveaway.

    Blessings,

  11. I have loved reading Mary's other books and look forward to this one! One thing that I like about Mary's writing is that she takes what could be an overdone, eye-rolling moment and injects humor into it. She doesn't take herself too seriously. Even the villains are funny!:) One knows that the author has as much fun writing her work as the reader has in reading it. At the same time when she wants to write a tender, breath-taking moment it can turn very serious and good-sigh-inducing.
