THE FAIREST BEAUTY
In this young adult fairy tale retelling by Melanie Dickerson, a woman arrives in Hagenheim claiming the young woman betrothed to the duke’s son, Valten, is still alive. With Valten injured, his younger brother, Gabe, defies his family to find Sophie himself. When Gabe arrives at the castle, Sophie must make a choice: go to the Cottage of the Seven and fend for herself, or trust the handsome stranger who seems ready to do anything to keep her safe.
My Review:
Take a moment to pause and drink in that beautiful cover. Does the book match that outer glow? You betcha! I love fairy tale retellings. There's something so thrilling about knowing the bones of the story while being surprised (and delighted) at the way the author fleshes it out. Dickerson is an expert as this is her third book. If you want to be swept away by a fantastical love story anchored in faith, then this the book for you.

My daughter and I really enjoyed Melanie's first book, The Healer's Apprentice. I gave my daughter the second book, The Merchant's Daughter, for Christmas. She liked it very much.
