A Wreath of Snow

GIVEAWAY
HIGGS, LIZ CURTIS
A WREATH OF SNOW

All Margaret Campbell wants for Christmas is a safe journey home. When her plans for a festive holiday with her family in Stirling crumble beneath the weight of her brother's bitterness, the young schoolteacher wants nothing more to return to the students she loves and the town house she calls home.

Then an unexpected detour places her in the path of Gordon Shaw, a handsome newspaper man from Glasgow, who struggles under a burden of remorse and shame.

When the secret of their shared history is revealed, will it leave them tangled in a knot of regret? Or might their past hold the threads that will bind their future together?

As warm as a woolen scarf on a cold winter's eve, A Wreath of Snow is a tender story of love and forgiveness, wrapped in a celebration of all things Scottish, all things Victorian, and especially, all things Christmas.

My Review:

published in 2012
My thanks to my public library for providing me with this excellent retro Christmas read!

A sweet, challenging and beautiful Christmas tale that focuses on forgiveness and reconciliation...with a light dusting of romance. The author immerses her readers in a Victorian Christmas complete with record snow that plays havoc with the lives of our hero and heroine...or does it? Because though there's strife and bitterness this is the season of peace and goodwill both of which Margaret and Gordon need a healthy dose of! Perfect pacing, wonderful details and the happy warmth of tale well told.

  3. You are definitely getting us into the Christmas spirit! I haven't read anything by Liz, and so I did some research on the author and her books. Perhaps I am wrong, but I don't believe we find very many books set in Scotland, so that is interesting in itself (and to one with some Scottish roots, too). Thank you for the review and the opportunity to participate!

    1. I'm more familiar with her bible studies and non-fiction. Really loved Embrace Grace. And she's done a lot to highlight women in the bible. She's a powerful speaker too...not that I've seen her in person but I've watched some videos online. And yes, Scotland is definitely a fave location of mine but you're right, not all that common in Christian Fiction. Good luck, CC!
