My Review:
Sqqquuueeeepppp! I'm letting out all my squeals and eeps in an ear-splitting crescendo of avid-Patrica-Davids-fan excitement! I love this author sooooo much and this book is the first of a new series -- North Country Amish! And if that isn't intoxicating enough -- this series is set in Maine and I do love going on location with the Amish.
New Covenant is a fledgling community experiencing some growing pains as the Amish settle in the predominately Englisch locale. Lots going on both within the community and without. And Bethany and her little family are smack in the middle of it all.
She's an older sister struggling to keep her family together but the Bishop has other ideas. When a newcomer shows up with connections to her deceased grandfather, things really get interesting. Though she can't help liking Michael, he's shrouded in mystery and Bethany has major trust issues. Love the way their friendship grows -- and the first time they meet is hilarious! Sweet romance at it's finest!
There's even a canine heroine -- Sadie Sue -- wonder dog extraordinaire inspired by the author's own furry rapscallion. An Amish Wife for Christmas is a treasure of a holiday read and I'm over-the-moon excited to be at the start of an exciting new series by Patrica Davids.
