Obsessed

GIVEAWAY
RANDOM RETRO READ DAY!
DALEY, MARGARET
OBSESSED

Another romantic suspense from USA Today Bestselling Author, Margaret Daley.

Stalker. Arson. Murder.

When a stalker ruthlessly targets people she loves, a woman flees her old life, creating a new identity as Serena Remington. Her plan to escape the madman and lead him away from family and friends worked for three years. Now he's back. With nowhere else to run, her only choice is war. Quinn Taylor, her neighbor and a firefighter with expertise in arson, comes to her aid, but will it be in time to save her?

My Review:

published in 2018

Great Dane meets mini poodle and fluff happens! Brutus is a hardworking arson dog who lets firefighter Quinn hang out with him during their off hours. Suzie's a pint-sized diva and a part-time comfort dog who knows just how to soothe Serena's frazzled nerves. It might be love at first sight for these wonder dogs but their humans are a little harder to train. :-)

There's a deliciously stalkerish vibe to this  edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense. Daley knows how to draw out the tension, creating the right balance of chills and thrills sure to keep an avid armchair sleuth turning pages (or in my case, rabidly listening.) Love the way the romance merges with the suspense (and I'm not just talking about the dogs here!) And the bad guy is pure evil (shivers running over my goosebumps!)

This is the second book in Daley's Everyday Heroes series and I love that each book features a canine (or two.) It can easily be read as a standalone. I'm thrilled that this indie pubbed series is available in both paperback and audible formats as well as the usual ebook edition. I listened to the audible version narrated by Kim Niemi who did a great job of bringing this story to life.

    1. It's evident that Margaret Daley is a dog person...or maybe she gets one of her pooches to write the canine scenes. :-) And it's interesting to find out about different K-9 occupations. Good luck, Terrill!
