Nicole

GIVEAWAY

MONZON, SARAH
NICOLE

Who has time to date when she's trying to raise a miniature human by herself AND save the planet from its irresponsible inhabitants? Not to mention my winning personality (snort) and my curves-have-curves figure (eyeroll) don't exactly attract the opposite sex. Unfortunately, none of these reasons have stopped my friends and SoCal sewing sisters from taking on the archaic roll of matchmakers, and they're not beneath a little bribery if that's what it takes to get my cooperation. Let's just say everyone has their weak spot, and donations to my favorite charities is mine.

If I were to consider a romantic relationship, my dream guy certainly wouldn't be immature, everything-is-a-game Dr. Drew Bauer. The man raises my body temperature faster than global warming does the earth's! But life seems determined to keep throwing us together, especially now that one of my SoCal sewing sisters is engaged to his best friend, in which case there can only be one of two outcomes:

1. I kill him in a fit of annoyance
2. My common sense escapes me and I fall in love with him

Honestly, I'm not sure which would be worse.

My Review:

A pithy, well-paced rom/com that still has me grinning (and swooning) but, be forewarned, you gotta extend Nicole a little (maybe a whole lot of) grace while you get to know her. She can be a tad...passionately opinionated. :-)

Mind you, she's at her worse when Drew provokes her and does he ever love to push her buttons and watch the fireworks sizzle. Just so you know, I'm putting Drew in the running for hero of the year because my bones still haven't solidified and my fainting couch needs to be resprung from all my swooning.

I love the way he celebrates Nicole for who she is but also encourages her not to take herself so seriously. His laid-back, fun-loving personality is the perfect foil for her intensity. And there are hidden depths to this doctor! The kind that will send a reader of the romantical sort into spasms of toe-curls and heart-felt sighs. This guy is seriously swoonworthy.

Of course, Nicole doesn't see that. She just finds him annoying. And rude. And shallow. (Yes, our heroine might be a tad judgmental when it comes to Drew.) She's on a journey of discovery that will totally shake her preconceived notions into oblivion. And then, oh my, those fireworks will do way more than sizzle.

I listened to the audible edition expertly narrated by Stevi Incremona and while I absolutely adored her performance, I love Monzon's zippy dialogue and phenomenal phrasing so much that I'm going to have to buy a paperback copy too so I can pour over all those delicious words!

This is the third book in the Sewing in SoCal  series but can easily be read as a standalone BUT if you're following the series you'll be ecstatic to know there's plenty of girlfriend bonding and sniping just like old times. :-)

    1. Hmmm, I've only read one of Bethany's books (must change that) so I can't say for sure but this series is a great blend of humour and drama with some aha type thought provoking moments. Good luck, Trixi!

    2. You MUST remedy that! 😲😊

These sound a bit like her writing too, so I definitely need to see about borrowing "Molly" from Kindle Unlimited to get a taste of Sarah's writing.
