The Escape

GIVEAWAY

HARRIS, LISA
THE ESCAPE

US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are thrust into a high-profile case when they are called on to transport two prisoners across the country on a private plane. But when the plane experiences engine trouble en route from the Pacific Northwest to Colorado, the pilots crash-land the aircraft deep in the heart of the sprawling Salmon-Challis National Forest.

When Madison and Jonas regain consciousness, they find both pilots and one prisoner dead -- and one fugitive on the run. They'll have to negotiate the rugged and remote backcountry through Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado while tracking a murderer who is desperate to disappear -- and will do anything to stop them.

This high-octane game of cat-and-mouse from best-selling and award-winning author Lisa Harris will have your heart pumping as you try to catch a fugitive with nothing to lose.

My Review:

Me the whole read: Whoa...Whooaa...Whhhoooaaaa...and repeat.
Me at the end: Wait....Whhhhaaaaaaaatttttttttt?????????? Thud!

Edge-of-your-seater: Check: Page-turner: Check: Compulsive read: Check. Reflective wincing and ducking: Check. You get the picture -- this is one all encompassing suspense so clear your calendar and prepare to be dazzled...and a little breathless by the end. Speaking of which:

It's kind of a cliffy. Well, maybe more of a tease for the next book in the series because while the main suspense thread in The Escape comes to a hair-raising resolution, there's another mystery waiting in the wings that is just getting started. In fact, it looks like this is going to be the the kind of series that has an over-arcing suspense thread throughout along with a specific one for each book. Plus, the romantic relationship is a really slow burn...something else that likely won't achieve full resolution until the final novel.

This suspense is all about the chase and I love that it's Madison and Jonas doing the pursuing. They are definitely in charge, even though their wily escapee seems to always be a step ahead of them and I found the procedural process of tracking down a killer absolutely fascinating.

Seriously unputdownable.

  5. WOW! "THE ESCAPE" sounds like it checks all the boxes and then some. Sounds like the type series that I could sure get into and one in which you devour one book and then slightly groan because you now have to wait for the next one. Love it!

Most definitely added to my TBR list and can't wait to read it.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
