Carol Awards Finalists 2022 -- Contemporary Fiction

GIVEAWAY

First off -- what exactly are the Carol Awards?

They are awards given out by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) in recognition of outstanding Christian fiction in the previous calendar year. So these 2022 finalists are books published in 2021. You might have read them already, you might not. I'll include links to reviews of the books I've read, but I have a lot of catching up to do so there will be gaps.

How does this giveaway work?

You select which of the Carol Award finalists 2022 -- Contemporary Category you would like to receive if your name is drawn. Mention the title in your comment (or an email if you're entering that way) and if you win, that's the book that will be sent to you. Easy Peasy. Here are the three finalists:

Where Grace Appears
by Heidi Chiavaroli

Ashamed of being duped by her handsome psychology professor, Josie Martin returns to Maine too proud to admit her foolishness to those close to her. As the one-year anniversary of her father's death approaches, she seeks solace in an old friend, Tripp Colton, and a new business venture that will prove to herself and her loved ones that she is still capable of success despite her overwhelming failure.

When Josie announces she will not return to school to finish her graduate degree but wishes to remain in Camden to help her mother achieve her lifelong dream, the entire family gets behind her idea to open and run a bed and breakfast inspired by Louisa May Alcott's Orchard House. Even Tripp gets excited about restoring Josie's great-aunt's Victorian home for the purpose, but when Josie's unexpected news is revealed, their friendship and the new feeling blossoming between them are threatened.

As summer gives way to fall, Jose struggles with decisions regarding her family's future, dealing with past mistakes she cannot run from, and her feelings for Tripp. When the opportunity for grace comes along, will she take it? Or will she continue to allow her failures to define her worth?

A contemporary twist on the well-loved classic, Little Women, readers will  fall in love with the Martin family -- Maggie, Josie, Lizzie, Branson, Amie and their mother Hannah -- each trying to find their own way in the world and each discovering that love, home, and hope are closer than they appear.

A Piece of the Moon
by Chris Fabry

When eccentric millionaire Gideon Quidley receives a divine revelation to hide his earthly treasure somewhere in the hills, he sets out to find the perfect hiding spot, choosing only a few bible verses as clues leading to untold riches of gold, silver, cash...and one very unexpected -- and very costly -- item.

Treasure hunters descends upon the hills of West Virginia, including this surrounding the small town of Emmaus, where TD Lovett and Wait Evers provide the latest updates and the beating heart of the community on radio Country 16. Neither man is much-interested in a wild goose chase for Quidley's treasure, though Waite is busy keeping the station afloat and caring for the bruised souls who have landed there. Meanwhile, TD's more intent on winning over local junkyard owner, Pidge Bedsoe, who has taken in a shy, wounded boy to raise.

But after an estranged friend goes missing searching for the treasure, TD is unexpected drawn to the hunt. As TD joins the race to find Quidley's wealth, he discovers where his own real treasure lies, and he begins to suspect there's a hidden piece of Gideon Quidley's treasure that no one could've expected.

  9. Oh fun! I have "A Piece of the Moon" waiting for me on my shelf. Both my husband & son read it, they said it's really good. A goal I need to meet for sure 😊

My choice would be "Where Grace Appears" because the story sounds great, the cover is beautiful, it's the beginning of a series, and I haven't yet read any of her books! It would tick a lot of boxes for sure.
