GIVEAWAY |
The best part of summer is the hot new releases publishers are sending our way! SQUEEEP!!! I'm so excited! And I know you are too so here's a chance for you to win a book from your summer wishlist.
Here's how it works: You recommend Christian Fiction with release dates in July, Auguat or September 2018 (up to three a day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it's a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.
PLEASE NOTE: email entries are not eligible this week. :-(
IT'S HISTORICAL ROMANCE/FICTION GIVEAWAY DAY!
To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the book(s) in the Historical Romance/Fiction genre you would like to read.
Historical Romance/Fiction
A full-length story or novella collection set in any time period before the end of the 1970s. May cross genres such as YA, Amish, Suspense etc and may include dual timelines.
How does it work?
BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!
Publication dates must be
July, August or September 2018
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer up to 3 suggestions a day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier for me to tally)
No email entries this week
(to hard to keep track of
due to # of responses)
IMPORTANT: entrants must submit their own selections
(not piggback on somebody else's login) IMPORTANT
Open to International Readers
I'm all about spreading the good news
about Christian Fiction
all over the globe!
Draw will be held and winner announced on
Sunday June 17 2018
This is not a genre I am as familiar with, but I think Reckoning at Gossamer Pond by Jaime Jo Wright works right?
ReplyDeletemo1202007ATyahooDOTcom
Sqqquuueeeaaallll!!!! This one definitely counts! Love Dual timelines and loved Jaime Jo Wright's first book Can't wait for this one. Good luck, Melissa.
DeleteHappy Monday everyone!!

2) Sons of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof (July)
ReplyDeletedianalflowers(at)aol(dot)com
3) Minding the Light by Suzanne Woods Fisher (July)
ReplyDeleteAll of my faves seem to release in July. I think I'll save Gossamer Pond for contemporary day (as I couldn't find many of those I'm interested in YET), but I'm not sure if that will work. It's a dual timeline.
Yep, Gossamer Pond will work in Contemporary since that's one of the timelines. And I thought there were a ton of Contemps coming out this summer. We seemed to be finding them last time round and lamenting that we couldn't include them in that Reader's Choice giveaway.
DeleteI didn't know about any of these, Diane so I've duly noted the them on my July page. Woot!!! Good luck!
There might be a heap of contemps, Kav, but I'm not seeing them. Maybe bc they're unknown authors to me, IDK. I'm sure the others will come up with plenty. ;-)
DeleteAlso wanted to add that I loved 'Lady Jayne Disappears' so much, so am super excited Politano has another one releasing already.
DeleteYes -- I squealed when I saw that her next book is out so soon. Giddy. Giddy. Giddy.

Eeeeepppp!!!! You. gobsmacked me, Joy! I didn't know that Susan Anne Mason had a new series coming out and a Canadian one at that. Woot! And I'm super excited to continue the Shadows Over England series by Roseanne White! I'm sooo excited! Good luck!
DeleteMy Heart Belongs in Galveston, Texas - Madeline's Search by Kathleen Y'Barbo
ReplyDeleteI adore the My Heart Belongs series!

The Patriot Bride #4 by Kimberly Woodhouse
ReplyDeleteI haven't read many of the My Heart Belongs series...just two, I think, but I enjoyed them both. Two more new titles to add to my wishlist. Good luck, Susan.
DeleteLooked on Bethany House website and found a number of upcoming good historical fiction releases. So, starting with the continuation of her excellent and unusual series, Shadows over England...
ReplyDeleteAn Hour Unspent, Roseanna White, Sept.
Continuing an amusing series is
ReplyDeleteCaught by Surprise, Jen Turano, July.
Best of Intentions, Susan Anne Mason, July. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd so, before I click publish, I am now reading the other submissions thus far and see all of these have already been submitted. Popular books/authors and honestly, as I went to other publisher websites and to ChristianBooks, I think I maybe(?)didn't see quite as many non-Amish historicals as usual. But, it is always an ebb and flow with publishing.
Hi, CC. Seems like mid-summer especially is slow for new releases. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find much contemporary fiction either, unless it was suspense. Found some good sounding suspense novels!
DeleteAppreciate the comment/analysis! I was trying to remember from this time period last year... and it also would make financial sense that perhaps more books would just be released early in the 4th quarter to grab attention for Christmas gifts.
DeleteYes -- I wondered how much would be coming out in the summer but I think September starts with the push for Christmas shoppers with so hopefully you'll find enough titles to fill each day. I think the biggest publishing time is the fall.
DeleteI'm soooooo loving that Shadows Over London series. I hope it doesn't stop at three. Good luck, CC.
The Best of Intentions by Susan Anne Mason, July 2018 release from Bethany House
ReplyDeleteKathleen ~ Lane Hill House lanehillhouse[at]centurylink[dot]net
I'm so looking forward to that as well...but I thought she had another series she was in the middle of -- or maybe it was a standalone? Must check that out. Good luck, Kathleen.
DeleteA Most Noble Heir published in March 2018 ~ very good! a standalone, possibly ~ The Best of Intentions is her first book in the Canadian Crossings series! Kathleen
DeleteAh...I read A Most Noble Heir and assumed it was the start of a series. Ha! So now we are really starting a new series. Yippee! Thanks, Kathleen.

THANKS, Kav, for a fun week!
Well, boo hiss, why is Freedom's Kiss only in ebook format??? All her other books are released in paperback too so I'm hoping this one will be as well. Love her work. Good luck, Jackie.
DeleteI bet it will be as it gets closer to release, Kav. It seems that many indie published books/authors don't have pre-orders for paperbacks until then.
DeleteCaught by Surprise by Jen Turano
ReplyDeleteI love her books!
Good luck, Susan.
DeleteI can't wait to read In Dreams Forgotten by Tracie Peterson!

ReplyDeleteEeep! I hadn't heard about Ann H. Gabhart's new one coming out and it's based on a true story! Looks really good. Good luck, Trixi.

#2 Sons of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bischof

#3 The Best of Intentions by Susan Anne Mason

Great choices, Samantha. I love Reader's Choice week too. I'm already drooling over the new releases coming out. Good luck!
DeleteThis isn't one of my choices, but Nadine Brandes's new book Fawkes releases in July and it's historical fiction with a fantasy twist :)
DeleteOhhhh -- I remember seeing that somewhere. It looks really intriguing. Thanks, Samantha.
Delete#3 Sons of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bishof
ReplyDeleteteamob4 (at) gmail (dot) com
CBD.com is not listing September releases. Amazon is okay (how you told me worked fine), but it's still a lot to look through, and Harlequin for upcoming Love Inspired is pathetic. Sigh....all my go-to resources failed me!
Did you try the ACFW link I shared yesterday? That might help. I'm beginning to think I should start a website that lists the new releases in Christian Fiction each month. If one doesn't already exist. We shouldn't have to work this hard! Good luck, Trixi.
DeleteOh, I have not! Will try that to see if I can add any for the other reader choices this week! :-)
DeleteSons of Blackbird Mountain by Joanne Bishof

DeleteSo many good ones coming this summer/fall! Look forward to Colleen Coble's Freedom's Light in Sept. kjrochon40 (at)msn (dot)com
ReplyDeleteIs this a reprint of an earlier novel? In any case it looks fabulous. And love that cover. Good luck, Karen.
DeleteNo, this is a new one by her, but she wrote it many years ago she said in the notes just never had it published.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to Lynn Austin's Legacy of Mercy coming out late Sept/early Oct. kjrochon40(at)msn(dot)com
DeleteThis one doesn't meet the criteria, Karen. It's coming out in October. Feel free to select another title.
DeleteAlso interested in Jen Turano's Caught by Surprise for a fun summer read. Thank you!
ReplyDeletekjrochon40(at)msn(dot)com
You can't go wrong with Jen Turano! Good luck, Karen.
DeleteThis isn't a selection, but if someone needs a suggestion here's one:

DeleteYes Kav, Yes! Please tell us how to find upcoming releases or post somewhere! I got some on Bethany and. Goodreads anticipated upsming for 2018. ( by the way I can’t vote any more. I guess I’m at my limit) there are lots coming in July but not as many in August or September for some reason.
ReplyDelete#1 A Tale of Two Hearts by Michelle Griep. Its the second of her Dickens Christmas tales!
paulams49ATsbcglobalDOTnet
#2 In Dreams Forgotten by Tracie Peterson
ReplyDeletepaulams49ATsbcglobalDOTnet
#3 In Times Gone By by Tracie Peterson
ReplyDeletepaulams49ATsbcglobalDOTnet
Thanks!
I did some digging and you came up with two of the ones I had that haven't been mentioned yet. -- Michelle Griep and In Times Gone By by Tracie Peterson. They sure make us work for our fiction, don't they?! Good luck, Paula.
DeleteHere's a few I found that no one has mentioned yet:
ReplyDeleteThe Sound of Distant Thunder by an Drexler -- historical Amish coming out in September
Thief of Corinth by Tess Afshar - Biblical Fiction - July
Murder at the Flamingo by Rachel McMillan - historical suspense - July
The Kitchen Marriage by Gina Welborn and Becca Whitham -- looks like two novellas coming out in September.
I heard somewhere that Thief of Corinth by Tessa Afshar was not Christian fiction. I believe the author herself said that it was just a clean read, so I didn't know if this one would count.
DeleteWell, that's interesting! I just assumed given the author and the time period that it would be.
DeleteAnother suggestion is The Fashion Designer by Nancy Moser; sequel to The Pattern Artist.
DeleteThe Lady of Tarpon Springs by Judith Miller (July)
ReplyDeletepmkellogg56[at]gmail[dot]com
Hidden Among the Stars by Melanie Dobson (Sept.) This is a time slip novel so has historical and contemporary timelines.
ReplyDeletepmkellogg56[at]gmail[dot]com
An Hour Unspent by Roseanna M. White (Sept.)
ReplyDeletepmkellogg56[at]gmail[dot]com
Oooh -- you found a new one and a dual timeline which is technically called a time slip? Plus it's a mystery! That ticks a lot of my boxes! Good luck, Pam.
DeleteI love these posts - so many good recommendations!

DeleteI'm a little confused. Is it three comments a day across all posts, or three comments per post. For example, can I leave comments on this post and another days post in one day (up to six books), or only three total no matter which posts I leave comments on? I've never participated in the reader's choice before. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThree title suggestions per day, but each needs to be in its own comment. The next day you can repeat the process. Only three per day though. You can choose three new titles or repeat the ones you've already chosen.
DeleteAlso, you can choose three titles each day in all the categories. That could be twenty-some each day by the time the last blog post has been posted.
DeleteIt's three comments total for each category. By the end of the week you should have a total of three comments in historical, three in contemporary, three in Amish, etc.
DeleteThank you, Sylvia and Elly
DeleteThanks for pitching in and explaining Sylvia and Elly! Yes, three different suggestions a day that fit the genre.
DeleteThree separate comments only on each day . Only according to that day’s genre. So— only three on each post.

Thanks Kav! It's been a very long time since I've visited your blog. I've been dealing with a couple of brain injuries which have caused me not to be able to read or write well, but I'm trying to get back into reading a little bit of fiction. Thought I'd stop by your blog to see what new books are out. I love seeing everyone's suggestions! I now have some new books for my "want to read" list!
~Alisha :)
Alisha, you should listen to audio books if you have access to them. See if your library has RB Digital. Our library is connected to that and it has lots of Christian fiction audio books.
DeleteSorry to hear that, Alisha. I can see how popping into the blog in the middle of Reader's Choice Week could be very confusing! Good luck!
