Good morning, Kav, and fellow book lovers! What a great way to get my mind off of the massive hurricane barreling towards SC! Book talk! Yay! 😁
ReplyDelete1) Leaving Lavender Tides by Colleen Coble
(This is a novella releasing Dec 4 & it sounds so good!)
dianalflowers(at)aol(dot)com
Prayers for your safety down there in SC Diana! We are praying up here in Va, too!
DeleteAwww, thanks SO much, Tracey! Prayers for y'all in VA, too! I have quite a few friends there!
DeleteYES, prayers for Diana & Tracey re approaching Florence!
DeleteI've been thinking of you both, Diana & Tracey...and a number of others I've met on line. Praying for safety and...honestly...that the hurricane just runs out of steam before it hits land.
DeleteThank you Kav, prayers for safety in storms, and in life, are always much appreciated!
DeleteThanks, Kav and Jackie! I appreciate your prayers!
Delete2) In Too Deep by Lynn H. Blackburn (November 6)
ReplyDeletedianalflowers(at)aol(dot)com
I didn't know about that Colleen Coble one but I've had my eye on Lynn Blackburn's book for a while now. Eeeep! Good luck, Diana!

Another Irene Hannon out so soon?????? That is super exciting news! Good luck, Tracey!
Delete3) Tell Her No Lies by Kelly Irvin (November 13)
ReplyDeleteKelly has pulled a switcheroo and instead of writing wonderful Amish fiction she decided to try her hand at suspense! It's not easy stepping out of one's comfort zones so WTG, Kelly!
SQUUUEEEEEPPPP!!!! That might just be the scope of the week, Diana. I'm gobsmacked! Good luck!
DeleteI'm totally gobsmacked that you're gobsmacked! 😂
DeleteI just started reading Kelly's Amish and saw this on her website last winter. I had forgotten all about it. Thanks, Diane.
DeleteI absorb anything Kelly Irvin writes.
DeleteYou're welcome, Terrill!
Delete2)Cold Case Christmas Jessica Patch 12/1
ReplyDelete3) Christmas Under Fire Michelle Karl 11/1
ReplyDeleteThis one has a Canadian setting Kav in
British Columbia.
Thanks for the fun week of book treasure hunting, this is the kind of exploring I like :)
Eeeeeekkkkk -- that Michelle Karl book is the third one in her Mountie Brotherhood series. And I just read the second one a couple of weeks ago! Love it when they come out close together like that! Good luck, Tracey!
DeleteI haven't read Michelle before, but suspense and Christmas together call my name. I should probably backtrack and read the other two.
DeleteBrothers who are all RCMP officers...Sigh...yes you'd enjoy the first two books but they can each be read as standalones so no worries if you don't.

ReplyDeletepsalm103and138atgmaildotcom
At last we have the suspense part of the Montana Rescue series! There's been hints of it in the other books but not to the point of being considered suspense and now kapow -- this last book starts with a bang judging by the sneak peek at the end of book 5! Good luck, Caryl.
DeleteToday's choices:

DeleteThinking of you Diana and Tracey! Hidden Peril by Irene Hannon mauback55 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie!
DeleteI'm listening to info on the news right now -- about people leaving the Carolina states and stations running out of gas. I can't even imagine!
DeleteGood luck, Melanie!
Thanks so much, Melanie! We could be facing a 'Hidden Peril' since not even the meteorologists know exactly what Hurricane Florence is going to do. Ugh
DeleteSuspense, my other most favorite genre! This one will come as no surprise, I'm sure:
ReplyDelete1. Hidden Peril by Irene Hannon
October
DeleteNobody has mentioned this one yet. Since I have the first book in my shelf, I must have this one :-)
ReplyDelete2. Lethal Target by Janice Cantore (Oct)
And last but not least, must have this third installment to complete the series!
ReplyDelete3. Christmas Under Fire by Michelle Karl (Nov)
teamob4 (at) gmail (dot) com
Oooohhh -- that Janice Cantore book is news to me. There's a ton of really amazing suspense books coming out. I feel a swoon coming on just thinking about it! Good luck, Trixi.
DeleteHer first one is called "Crisis Shot"and is the start of her "The Line of Duty" series! Came out September of last year if you want to check it out :-)
DeleteYep -- I read Crisis Shot -- really love the police procedural angle in her books....and I am intrigued by a certain deputy (my romantical heart always yearning for a love connection) I'm hoping it plays out over the series.

3. Mind Games, Nancy Mehl

ReplyDeletepwestfall7 at hotmail dot com
I adore suspense as well and aren't there some fantastic ones coming out? It seems like every big name suspense writer in Christian Fiction is releasing a book this fall. Hooray! Good luck, Pam!
ReplyDelete1 for me?
ReplyDeleteSearching for You [Orphan Train #3] Jody Hedlund
This one isn't romantic suspense. It would fit in Historical though. :-)
Deletestoryline sounds pretty suspenseful..
Delete" times are growing desperate, and when she falls in with the wrong crowd and witnesses a crime, she realizes fleeing 1850s New York is her only option...With mounting debts, a harvest to bring in, and past scars that haunt him, he's in no position to give his heart away . . ." def more than just historical to me ;)
That's just the set up for why she fled on the orphan train with the kids. The way I understand it, the bulk of the story is about her placement out west and likely being reunited with her sisters since this is the third book in the series. It's not tagged as suspense on Amazon -- just historical fiction and Western/Frontier life.

ReplyDeleteA Sparkle of Silver
I know, that surprised me but Liz Johnson writes suspense with Love Inspired and she published that great contemporary romance series with Revell so this looks like the perfect meshing of both! Good luck, Lea.

All on my list too -- especially intrigued by Kelly Irvin's genre hop. Can't wait to read that! Good luck, Lucy!
DeleteReading reviews for Enchanting Nicholette by Dawn Crandall, it apparently is romantic suspense, so I'll add that for choice #2
ReplyDeleteI think you and I have the same problem, lol. I only really care for historical and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of that going around on this category☹️😉
DeleteNicely put, Elly :)
DeleteIt's funny, isn't it because the last time there were plenty of historical suspense or dual time line mysteries but not so much for the autumn releases.
DeleteWhen I saw someone choose A Sparkle of Silver in this category, I had to go recheck and YES! I'm so excited, because I hadn't placed that one on contemporary.
ReplyDelete1) A Sparkle of Silver by Liz Johnson
tlhcoupon(at)Hotmail(dot)com
I'm not sure if someone mentioned this one already, but it's indie published and doesn't have a hard copy listed yet. The first two books in the series have paperbacks, so I assume this third book will have one closer to publication.
ReplyDelete2.) Surrounded By Darkness by Rachel Dylan

3.) Tell Her No Lies by Kelly Irvin

No one has mentioned that indie by Rachel Dylan. That's exciting! I think I checked into that series in the early days when ebooks were the only option. Glad to hear they are in paperback now as well. Good luck, Terrill!

DeleteSo, to be clear, is "Enchanting Nicholette" considered a mystery/suspense or no? (Just trying to get my choices in order, lol)
ReplyDeleteSorry -- not tagged as suspense on Amazon.
DeleteOkay, lol. I didn't think it was, but I saw a comment above with this one listed and so wasn't sure.
DeleteHere's a third suspense option delivered in author Misty Beller's newsletter for her newest release in Oct ...
ReplyDeleteThis Courageous Journey
Don't hit me! lol This isn't suspense either. It's tagged as Frontier and Pioneer which is more adventure than cloak and dagger suspensey stuff. I've never read anything my Misty Beller but it looks like I need to give her a try!
DeleteYou do! I'm reading this series by Misty M. Beller right now and it is SOOO good!
DeleteThanks for the recommend, Elly! She's on my list now.
DeleteI've only got two choices for this category, but I'm SUPER excited for both of them!
