Courage Under Fire

GIVEAWAY
DUNN, SHARON
COURAGE UNDER FIRE

A killer in the shadows watches...and waits.
The thrilling True Blue K-9 Unit continues.

A deadly stalker has rookie K-9 officer Lani Branson in his crosshairs and he won't stop until she's dead. Her boss, K-9 police chief Noah Jameson won't let that happen on his watch, especially since there's a chance this is the same person who killed his brother. Can they unmask the murdere who's been terrorizing the unit before he strikes again?

My Review:

My heart is overflowing with all the K-9 love in this series. This time it's Rottweiler Scotty who is always ready to offer up"moral support and doggie kisses." (p 22) Especially where Lani is concerned which kinda makes Noah jealous. :-) Love the impossible circumstances of their romance -- he's the police chief, she's a rookie in his department. I couldn't figure out how they'd manage to work through that without one of them losing out big time. Luckily, the author is very clever at creating HEAs.

And if one dog sends me into a swoon, the addition of K-9 wannabe Oscar sent me into a tailspin (pun intended.) He's a gangly pup who might not make the cut due to his exuberantly rambunctious nature. Talk about puppy love!

A stalker suspense is always thrilling and Dunn draws out the tension with expert skill. Plus she allows enough down time for Noah and Lani to let down their defenses. But when it's time for action, it comes fast and furious. Another wonderful addition to the True Blue K-9 Unit series

  1. Ooh, I actually love it when a story seems to have no possible HEA with job situation like you listed here. It is always fun to see how they make it work. I'm excited to see how she did it!!! lattebooksAThotmailDOTcom

    1. They get such a bad rap as a guard dog but they are supposed to be great family dogs too. I love the Carl picture books for preschoolers by Alexandra Day. So cute and the illustrations are fabulous! Good luck, Trixi!

  6. Don't you just love the cover of "COURAGE UNDER FIRE"!

Such a maligned critter the rottweiler who can be just as loving and protective as the next dog given the love and correct training by his human. When I was working with animals, I learned they were just big babies who needed direction and love.

I'd love the opportunity to read to find out just how Noah and Lani get around that boss/rookie angle.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy of what I'm sure is a fabulous book!

    1. Yes -- such a noble beast on the cover! And rottweiler's are so big and strong they need a human who is willing to be the alpha of the pack. Often problem dogs are a result of problem humans. Good luck, Kay!
