Their Christmas Prayer

GIVEAWAY
JOHNSON, MYRA
THEIR CHRISTMAS PRAYER

A Texas pastor has a million reasons to go...and just one to stay: her

Searching for a new start, Pastor Shaun O'Grady can't wait for his next foreign missionary assignment...until he begins working with Brooke Willoughby on the church's Christmas outreach program. Even as they clash over program specifics, Shaun and Brooke are drawn to each other. Now Shaun's not sure where he belongs: overseas for his ministry, or at home by Brooke's side.

My Review:

"I can get so focused on the details that I forget to bring God in." (p 37)

So much to love about this Christmas-centric romance! For starts the hero and heroine have enough electricity to light up the town's Christmas lights for the whole season! :-) But both Brooke and Shaun are opinionated. Really opinionated -- like on the opposite sides of the issue convicted! And that allows some of their over-bearing tendencies to shine through. And did I mention control issues? Whew! Sparks fly as wills clash and tempers rise. I honestly wasn't sure I would make it safely to the end without getting my fingers singed. Those pages were that fiery with indignation a time or two! While I don't like that kind of tumultuous relationship in my own life, it sure is fun to read about!

Also, love how the author shines a light on the struggles missionaries and pastors go through as they seek God's leading in their lives. I know I'm guilty of thinking a pastor has it all figured out -- you know, a direct line to Heaven that always provides prompt answers. :-)  Shaun sure set me straight and I wrestled with the Lord right alongside him as he tried to figure out his future.

Love the way the real meaning of Christmas shines through in this story -- all tender and touching and joyful. And the secondary characters that support and cajole and...yes, even push...Brooke and Shaun towards that all important happily ever after. Which is sweet perfection, by the way.
