COPYCAT KILLER
Murder strikes close to home for a new K-9 unit in Brooklyn
When a double homicide is strikingly familiar to a twenty-year old cold case, Detective Nate Slater is rattled by the parallels. With a child as the only witness, he and his K-9 partner must protect little Lucy and her aunt, Willow Emery. Nate's rough past means he always keeps an emotional distance...but in this case getting closer is the only way they'll all survive.
My Review:
What an intense opening scene! And then it's just a rush of adrenaline all the way to the end.
I am so jazzed about this new LIS K-9 continuity series! We're back in New York City -- Brooklyn this time and there are some carryovers from the previous True Blue K-9 series -- like Murphy (pictured on the cover) is one of Stella's puppies! All grown up and a real K-9 officer rock star! You totally don't have to be able to make that connection in order to enjoy Copycat Killer -- just a fun bit of book nerd trivia. :-)
This time round, the over arcing suspense that will be carried through all eight books is a particularly grizzly copycat murder. It won't be solved until the very last book BUT Nate and Willow do solve their case and wind up in in each other's arms by the very last page so there's plenty of closure for reader's who don't like cliffhanger endings.
A splendid start to what looks to be an addictive new K-9 series!
