Reunited by Danger

GIVEAWAY
POST, CAROL J.
REUNITED BY DANGER

Calculated Revenge

When a former classmate is murdered at Detective Caleb Lyon's ten-year high school reunion, he knows the victim's old group of friends are keeping secrets. That includes Cedar Keys, Florida, police officer Amber Kingston. Back in school, Amber was headed for trouble, but now she's as dedicated to the law as he is. As he works overtime to get the pretty cop to open up to him, Amber and her friends receive messages threatening payback for past deeds. And her friends keep dying...one by one. But protecting Amber and unmasking a murderer isn't just the widowed detective's shot at redemption -- it's his unexpected second chance at love.

My Review:

What a perfect premise for a suspense novel. Very Agatha Christiesh with reunion attendees dying off one by one. High School reunions are already deadly enough without a twisted killer on the loose. :-)

And then there's Caleb and Amber getting reacquainted as law enforcement professionals. They were from opposite sides of the track back in high school. Caleb was the hard working but easy going student who never got into trouble. Amber was the exact opposite. Loved that fresh spin on the usual good girl/bad boy scenario. But Amber has her act together now and she's trying to live down her past...if it doesn't kill her first.

Incredibly clever suspense plotting and great dynamics between the hero and heroine (hello -- they both have rescue animals!) make this a compulsive page-turner of a read.

  1. Oh, I like the twist of bad girl turned good! So many are the bad boy type, I'm already interested in it :-)

I've never been one for High School reunions because I was always part of the ever UN-popular crowd. So, yeah, not good memories. And besides, I live over 2,000 miles from my hometown so that helps, lol!

    1. I know -- great twist, right? And ugh to High School Reunions -- mind you, I don't think they are as big around here in my corner of Canada as they seem to be in the states. Thankfully. LOL Good luck, Trixi.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
