OFF THE GRID CHRISTMAS
Holiday Hideout
When computer expert Arden DeMarco hacks secret files and discovers evidence of treason, a price is put on her head. What started as a mission to help a friend is now a fight for her life with assasins and the FBI tracking her down. There's no time to get distracted by her brother's best friend, Kane Walker, but the security expert promised Arden's family he'd bring her safely home for the holidays. Instead, they're dodging bullets -- and fighting their growing feelings -- while Arden races to break the encryption and find out what's hidden in the files she stole. But as they're hunted by armed henchmen determined to make sure those secrets are never uncovered, keeping Arden safe is the only Christmas gift that matters...
My Review:
Mercy, but I think this might just be one of the best Love Inspired Suspense novels I have ever read! It's seriously riveting suspense and awesomely toe-curling romance and I never expected to laugh so much in the middle of all the desperate danger and fearsome pursuits. That laughter comes courtesy of Arden DeMarco -- an intense, nerdy computer expert who has the habit of spouting off inane facts when she's nervous. And Kane finds that he quite enjoys this chatterbox's rants. These two sizzle in every scene. I think my fingers are scorched! So I'm all into rabidly navigating the plot twists and turns and then - wham! -- Silas and company show up and I'm suddenly stereo hyperventilating and praying that he (and company) are the heroes in Porter's next book. And please, please, please, let that be soon! If you only buy one LIS novel this month make it this one.

Then low and behold last May I spotted Off the Grid on a list somewhere and the anticipation has been building ever since!
ReplyDeleteFast forward to your exciting review, and I don't think I can take the waiting any longer! After only one book, I put her at the top of my fav LIS author list.

I loved her first book too and this is kind of a sequel in that Arden is Grayson's sister and we see him for a bit at the end of the book. And Off the Grid at Christmas is just as brilliant as Into Thin Air...if not more so. Mary Ellen Porter is definitely on my must-buy-as-soon-as-it-comes-out list. Good luck, Tracey.
DeleteWow my kind of writer. cheetahthecat1986ATgmailDOTcom

LOL -- I'm glad you are in the know! Good luck, Kay.
DeleteHi Kay, I hope you are ok? I don't know if you have other posts that I can write on. It's just that you usually have the nextform's blog post on here posted at midnight est and I don't see it?
ReplyDeleteHope to hear from you soon. ☺
Thanks for checking up on me, Linda. Alas, we had a crazy storm whip through here yesterday afternoon and it wiped out my power until this morning. I only had one candle in the house, no flashlights so I went to bed at 8:30! I live in the middle of the city and man, is it dark without all those street lights and neighbour's porch lights.
DeleteI usually read and review at least a week in advance so they are scheduled ahead of time but, alas again, I got behind so the next post was only half written and then wham it was lights out and nothing I could do about it until this morning. It's up now though.
Glad you are okay!
DeleteThanks for letting us know
ReplyDeleteThat was supposed to save Kav also not Kay and next day's not nextform?? Technology UGH LOL
Ya it is eerie dark when you lose power,
Hopefully you weren't reading a scary book :)
I was reading a suspense actually, but I had to stop because there wasn't enough light to see. It was creepy though.
DeleteHaha OF COURSE You were That's how it happens LOL
DeleteWow, if this one is the best LIS it really must be an awesome page turner! Thanks for your review and giveaway. d[dot]brookmyer[at]yahoo[dot]com
ReplyDeleteIt's the awesomest of awesome page-turners. :-) Good luck, Donna.
