HOLIDAY MOUNTAIN CONSPIRACY
Unraveling secrets is their mission...but the truth can be fatal.
After his last CIA assignment ended in betrayal, the covert operative known only as Ned holes up for Christmas in his remote mountain cabin, preparing to trap the men hunting him. But journalist Mary Grace Ramsey reaches Ned first, injured and determined to uncover why someone is after her and her CIA agent brother. Together, can they unravel a conspiracy that goes higher than they ever imagined?
My Review:
An embittered covert operative with trust issues.
A quirky chatterbox with a tenacious streak.
A 'rat dog' in a Christmas sweater.
A war hero K-9 who keeps an eye on everyone.
Seriously, how can an avid romantic suspense reader resist Liz Shoaf's latest masterpiece?! I snorted and guffawed as often as I ducked and cringed through this unconventional romantic suspense. Treachery and treason with a kinda 'Alias' (TV show 2001-2006) vibe that'a a whole lot of fun!
And the romance? Okay -- they have some issues. He knows she's smart -- but the jury's out on whether she's friend or foe. And after what Ned's been through -- he's not big on trust. Mary Grace might acknowledge an attraction but it's easy to ignore when Ned continuously displays the "manners of a warthog." (p 29) "Uptown girl meets gruff mountain man" (p 42) about sums it up. I didn't know it was possible to laugh and swoon at the same time until I met this pair. And the dogs' antics are icing on the cake.
A brilliantly funny page-turner that sizzles and sparks!

Delete"HOLIDAY MOUNTAIN CONSPIRACY" sounds AMAZING! Your two lines - "A 'rat dog' in a Christmas sweater. A war hero K-9 who keeps an eye on everyone." would have me reaching for this book even if I didn't know it was a Love Inspired Suspense book. However, since it IS, it's definitely going on my TBR list. Can't wait for the opportunity to read. Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
