The Amish Christmas Matchmaker

GIVEAWAY
CHAPMAN, VANNETTA
THE AMISH CHRISTMAS MATCHMAKER

She'll find him a wife for Christmas...
Which of these Indiana Amish Brides is next?

With her wedding business thriving, Annie Kauffmann could never leave her beloved Amish community. So when handsome Amish cowboy Levi Lapp tries to convince her father to move the family to Texas, she must put a stop to it. If Annie finds Levi a wife, he might forget his dreams of moving...but can she keep from falling for him herself?

My Review:

"No dream comes true unless you wake up and go to work." (p 30)

But what happens when our dreams conflict with those we love? Conflict and strife and lots of confusion, that's what! Because Annie is a woman of strong opinions and she isn't afraid to share them. Bluntly. Emphatically. Relentlessly. And she has a lot of opinions about the Amish cowboy stirring up talk of Texas in her tight-knit community.

And yes, I used Amish and cowboy in the same sentence. Let's pause a moment to reflect on the magnitude of that phrase. Think Amish hero with a stetson...and cowboy boots. Happy sigh. I love Levi -- he's unflappable in the face of Annie's ire. In fact he likes to tease her just for the fun of watching the fireworks go off. And there's just something about a hero who isn't afraid to dream outside the box -- even within an Amish community.

These two are at such opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to their life goals that I didn't know how they'd find their way to a happily ever after but Chapman managed to wrangle them into submission by the end. Loved the light touches of humour, the angst-riddled not-really-courting and the emotional sucker-punch of a conclusion. Vannetta Chapman at her best!

    1. Ooohhhh -- you've missed a lot of great books! It's so hard to keep up and catch up with favourite authors, isn't it? And I just found out she's released a new cozy mystery book as well -- first in a new series! Has a really cute cover too. Dead Wrong -- an Amish B&B setting. Gotta get that one soon. Good luck, Trixi!
