February Giveaway -- Week Four

WON BY SYLVIA

WON BY MARIA DB

WON BY CHANEL M.

WON BY LORI S.

You know the drill: winners will be contacted if they left their email address. Otherwise it's up to the winner to contact me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca with your mailing address. From time to time a winner and I do not connect so I have a one month time frame on giveaway wins. If I haven't been able to reach you within 30 days of your win, it will be forfeited. This has happened a few times now so, please, DON'T BE SHY -- CONTACT ME IF YOU DIDN'T LEAVE YOUR EMAIL OR IF I HAVEN'T BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN REACHING YOU. Books will be ordered within a week of receiving your mailing address and I'll email you to confirm your win is on its way. Give it a full month before inquiring about the status of an order to allow for processing and shipping time. Thank you!

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK'S GIVEAWAYS:

Gah! I'm still getting used to my glasses and having a horrid time of it. Might have to have the prescription changed. I can read larger print books now...for a short period of time. So between a desperate run to my library and audible books I have a bit of line up for this week:

For Sures:

2630926149479568. sx318 sy475

Possibilities:

a few Regency novellas I found on audible last night but until I listen to them, I'm not sure if they are giveaway material...so I'll leave you in suspense:

And from my library finds -- these two have the largest print so I might make it through one this week:

Plus, I have my lovely new Love Inspired and Love Inspired Suspense novels languishing on my TBR pile. Whimper.

  4. I would definitely have your optometrist re-check your glasses Kav. When they prescribed progressive lenses for me four years ago, it only took maybe a week or so for me to get used to them. But I still could read sufficient enough even then. Do you have your old glasses you can use for a short bit of reading? It just seems you should be able to read much better than you are now.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I'd be bemoaning my lack of reading too....actually be going stir crazy. I hope you can get it resolved soon 😣😣

  7. Congrats and happy reading to the winners! It sounds like Trixi adapted better/faster than some others of us who have commented over the last week or so. A quick check to immediately rule out lab issue would be to take your glasses to your opthamalogist's office and ask them to read them....to see if they truly match the prescription they wrote. Been there, done that some years ago, as some optical labs aren't what they should be. I now only use the optical and lab connected with my large ophthalmology group practice. Also, my ophthalmologist/doctor recommended the Varilux progressives. Granted, that was several years ago, and I haven't had to update mine, as they have remained stable. Don't know if they are still preferred by him. Did your physician recommend a particular brand? Sending good thoughts and prayers, as nothing is more frustrating for a bookworm than not being able to comfortably read.

  8. Thanks for the eye woes encouragement everyone. I'm seeing some progress in that I can read large print now so I'm hoping. Talked to a friend at church this morning who got his first pair of progressive lenses in December and he's still adapting. Gasp! From what I can gather I'm well within the adaptation curve so I'm going to give it another week to see if I improve any more. If not, then I'll look at getting my eyes checked again and looking at what other options I have open to me.

  10. As reported by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the SINGLE reason women in this country get to live 10 years longer and weigh an average of 19 KG less than we do.

(And really, it is not about genetics or some secret-exercise and EVERYTHING to "how" they eat.)

P.S, I said "HOW", and not "WHAT"...
