Reader's Choice -- Contemporary Fiction

GIVEAWAY

Yeehaw! Summer Reading here we come! And that means it's...

Reader's Choice Giveaway!
Summer Edition!!

So here's how this things works: You recommend CHRISTIAN FICTION titles with release dates in July, August or September 2021 (up to three suggestions per genre day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it's a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.

PLEASE NOTE: email entries are not eligible this week :-(

It's CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE / FICTION
GIVEAWAY DAY

To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the book(s) in the Contemporary Romance / Fiction genre you would like to win.

Contemporary Romance / Fiction -- a full length story or novella or collection of novellas set in any time period 1980 onward. May cross genres such as YA, suspense, Amish etc and may include dual timelines.

How does it work?

Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section each day and if you win, you win the book you suggested.

BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!

Publications dates must be
July, August or September 2021
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer up to 3 suggestions
per genre day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier to tally)
No email entries this week
(too hard to keep track due to
# of responses)
entrants must submit their own selections
(not piggyback on someone else's login)
Open to International Readers
(I'm all about spreading the good news
about Christian Fiction far and wide)

It's helpful if you include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments (per day). If you choose not to include your email
then it's up to you to contact me if you're a winner.

Draw will be held and winner announced on
Saturday June 26 2021

  1. Happy Monday everyone!

    1) The Heart of Splendid Lake by Amy Clipston (Sept 14)

1st of all I love, love, love this cover & secondly I don't think I've ever read a book by Amy Clipston that's non-Amish. So I'm pretty excited about this one!

  2. 1) Beyond the Tides by Liz Johnson (Aug 3)

Yes! Another series by Liz Johnson set on beautiful Prince Edward Island!

    1. Oops, that was #2 choice. Sorry!

    2. Diane, I just finished an ARC of Beyond the Tides and it's terrific! That first kiss of his is in the swoony category!

    3. Thanks for the glowing recommendation, Tracey! Loved her previous PEI series! Hmmm, I may need to borrow Kav's fainting couch. πŸ˜„

    4. You will surely need it and the smelling salts too, lol! This is going to be a fantastic series!

    5. You've definitely got me drooling this morning, Tracey! Tissues now, smelling salts later & fainting couch later. πŸ˜†

    6. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait minute! There will be no lending or borrowing of fainting couches -- especially if you intend to drool on it! :-) I mean, what would I do while it was being shipped down and drooled on by you? I'd have to read all non-romancy books until you could ship it back to me. Humph. You're in the south, Diana, surely there a plethora of fainting couches for you to choose from! I suggest a furniture investment before the August release date. Snicker.

    7. Lol Kav! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†πŸ€£ I wish I had a fainting couch emoji, this one's not exactly rightπŸ›‹ but will do, and a person can swoon on a bed in emergencies too πŸ›Œ πŸ˜‰

      Delete
    8. Yes they can. It's hot and humid here today so I was kinda lounging on my bed in order to dust the shelves way down low and then I came upon a favourite book from ten years ago and I couldn't resist reading a bit...a lot...and oh la la, swoon city and then some. I'm not sure I've recovered. I might have to go back and swoon some more. :-)

      Delete
    9. Well, if it's a leather fainting couch you can easily wipe the drool off. LOL! Never mind. I have a great swooning recliner here that will do the job just as well! πŸ˜…

    10. That's the spirit -- make do with what you've got and worst case scenario, read while prone on the floor. :-)

It's been a while since we've heard from Carla so I'm looking forward to this one

  4. 2) The Gathering Table by Kathryn Springer 9/28

We haven't had a book from Kathryn in a while either but I've read almost all her books and this looks to be a good women's fiction release!

    1. Tracey, I have never read a single book by Kathryn Springer so this one's going on my wishlist. Sounds very intriguing!

      Delete
    2. I think Carla Laureano has been busy writing speculative fiction so that's why there's been a contemporary lull. Looking forward to this one too and I like the Colorado setting.

And woohoo -- another Love Inspired Trade book to anticipate. Good luck, Tracey!

    1. First, I'm with you on your Amy Clipston choice. I've been disappointed a couple of times when an Amish author has gone straight contemporary and included questionable content. Mild, by world standards, but still not what I would include in Christian fiction. Though they might be writing those books for mainstream. Anyway, anxious to see what Amy Clipston does with this new genre.

I'm super excited about Liz Johnson's new series set in PEI! Love that cover -- in fact, I think there have been more Contemp covers that have wowed me than Historical ones. I think it's all the bright, cheery colours. Good luck, Diana! Wishing you happy fainting couch hunting. :-)

      Delete
    2. Am hoping it'll be along the lines of Suzanne Woods Fisher's non-Amish contemporary series. Will see...
I agree with you about the pretty, cheerful colors, but hubby won't agree with you about couch hunting. Ha!

      Delete
    3. I was thinking of Suzanne's island series too. Hopefully that's the case with Amy Clipston.
