GIVEAWAY |
It's that time again -- when a bibliophile's fancy turns to new fall releases....and that means.....
Reader's Choice Giveaway!
Autumn Edition!!
So here's how this thing works: You recommend CHRISTIAN FICTION titles with release dates in October, November or December 2021 (up to three suggestions per genre day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it's a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.
PLEASE NOTE: email entries are not eligible this week. :-(
Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section each day and if you win, you win the book you suggested.
It's helpful if you include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments (per day). If you choose not to include your email then it's up to you to contact me if you're a winner.
IT'S ROMANTIC SUSPENSE / MYSTERY GIVEAWAY DAY!
To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the book(s) in the Romantic Suspense / Mystery genre you would like to win.
Romantic Suspense / Mystery Fiction
A full length story or novella or collection of novellas where the mystery is an important part of the plot. The hero or heroine (or both) are often in peril (more so in suspense.) Can be set in any time period -- contemporary or historical -- and cross genres such as YA, Amish or dual timelines.
How does it work?
Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section each day and if you win, you win the book you suggested.
BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!
Publication dates must be
October, November or December 2021
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer up to 3 suggestions per genre day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier for me to tally)
No email entries this week
(too hard to keep track of due to
# of responses)
entrants must submit their own selections
(not piggyback on someone else's logon)
Open to International Readers
I'm all about spreading the good news about Christian Fiction
all over the globe!!!!!
It's helpful if you include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments (per day). If you choose not to include your email then it's up to you to contact me if you're a winner.
Draw will held and winner announced on
Saturday October 2 2021

DeleteElinor by Shannon McNear 12/1
ReplyDeleteI just came across this book dealing with the Daughters of the Lost Colony 1587 from Barbour. I've always been so intrigued by this mysterious place in history and I don't think I've ever read anything fictional about it. (Looks like it may be a series too)
Thanks for the giveaway today Kav!

2) Ranger Honor by Lynn Shannon 10/16
ReplyDelete3) Night Prey by Susan Sleeman 10/15
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard about the Lost Colony before I read that synopsis. Love discovering random bits of history in my reading. And I just finished the Ranger Christmas book -- have to backtrack and read the second and third one now and then on to the next one! Good luck, Tracey!
DeleteOh yes, The Lost Colony is a well known part of early US history, especially in NC and VA. There's even an outdoor drama in Manteo, NC by that name that's been running since 1937 and reenacts it. So this story and it's "what if" mystery tagline really pulls me in.
DeleteI had to google it and it is very mysterious. Will definitely be interesting to see the author's spin on it.
Delete"Kate Breslin sweeps readers to a Great War home front full of intrigue, suspense, danger, and courage." I am curious if As Dawn Breaks 11/21 would also qualify for this category? If so, I would like to make that one of my selections, please. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteWell, Christianbooks doesn't show this as suspense or intrigue.
DeleteHmmm, the synopsis sounds mysterious enough -- they're hunting out a saboteur and there's danger and intrigue so I'll make the executive decision to count it even though it's not marked as suspense on Amazon. I find Amazon tags are pretty reliable (most of the time) for determining genre labels. Good luck, CC!
DeleteLabyrinth of Lies Irene Hannon Oct.

“Crosshairs” by Patricia Bradley
ReplyDeleteRelease date – November 2, 2021
Rocky Mountain Standoff Laura Scott Dec.
ReplyDeleteEeeeppppppp, Irene Hannon, eeeeeepppppp!!!! :-) Good luck, Jackie!

DeleteThe Finder of Forgotten Things by Sarah Loudin Thomas. Christianbooks com has that shown as suspense and intrigue. Not sure which/what resource is most thorough in terms of categorization. I typically just look on publisher websites or Christianbooks com. Thanks!
DeleteArgh -- sorry identifying this genre is difficult this time round. So, despite what Christian books says this isn't a suspense or mystery. BUT, I believe you had Shadows of Swanford Abbey by Julie Klassen as a choice before this one, if so, that is definitely a mystery -- the tagline even says Agatha Christie meets Jane Austen. Would you like to go with that one or choose something else?
DeleteSorry I didn't get to replying til this afternoon -- I read some of the comments but I had to trek out to the post office before the rain hit so I put off replying until now. :-(

Good luck, Elizabeth!
DeleteGood morning! I'm also intrigued by...
ReplyDelete1) Elinor by Shannon McNear (Dec 1)
2) Lost in Darkness by Michelle Griep (Nov 1
ReplyDeleteThis one is listed under mystery & thrillers on NetGalley, but not on Amazon. What say you, Kav?
Oops, yes it's listed on Amazon as Christian suspense/mystery.
DeleteWell it was! Now it's disappeared! Ugh I need to get eye Dr to recheck this dark floater in my eye. 😂 He said it would go away & eye is healthy, but when I start seeing words that aren't there... 🙄
DeleteI've looked into a couple of different places, including the author's webpage and I don't see any indication that this is a mystery. Maybe NetGalley put it thriller because of the Frankenstein reference. So, sadly, pick again. Shadows at Swanford Abbey by Julie Klassen is definitely a mystery if you're looking for historical.
DeleteWell, shine! That's Southern talk for phooey! LOL
DeleteOk then # 2) Crosshairs by Patricia Bradley (Nov 2)
Snort! Shine it is, silly people who don't tag their books properly! Good luck, Diana!
DeleteI actually saw in categorized under Mystery/Suspense on Amazon as well (had it picked out as one of my choices for this category.) Seeing this comment, I got curious, so I looked it up on Amazon again. If you are looking at the tags under the kindle edition, it is only listed as historical and Christian fiction, but if you look at the tags under the paperback edition, it actually is listed as a mystery/suspense as well. 🤷♀️ Also, if you look under the “From the Publisher” section (this is just above the “Editorial Reviews” on mobile), they categorize it as “Romance”, “History” and “Suspense”.
DeleteWell, there ya go! Elly, thank you!! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, now I see they weren't! Seems Amazon can't make up its mind. Well, whatever category it's under, this girl wants to read it!! Gothic Regency? EEP! I hope you get the chance to read it as well, Elly!!
DeleteElly -- you rock as a relentless researcher!!!! And now we need to book whomp the publishers for being so inconsistent with their tagging. I'm adding you in for this one too, Diana, as a bonus for all the grief and bibliophile drama I've caused. :-0
DeleteKav, you and Elly both rock!! Not your fault, Kav, for publishing inconsistency! I say we book whomp away!
Delete3) Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon (Oct 5)
ReplyDeletedianalflowers(at)aol(dot)com
Yes!!!!! Irene Hannon!!!! Must buy!!! Must read!!!! Now!!! Good luck, Diana!
DeleteSoon! lol
DeleteFreedom's Song by Kim Vogel Sawyer. Christianbooks has that as historical and suspense and intrigue. Bit surprised. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSorry, CC, this one isn't suspense either. :-( Just good old fashioned historical with some adventuring by the sounds of things. It's not marked as mystery or suspense on Amazon or Good Reads. Feel free to choose another one!
DeleteI don't read much suspense these days but there are absolutely authors that are a I-must-have-their-book!
ReplyDelete1. Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon~ October
I never miss Irene Hannon! Good luck, Trixi!
DeleteI'm so excited for this one too!
ReplyDelete2. Lost in Darkness by Michelle Griep
Sadly this one isn't mystery or suspense. The cover looks kinda mysterious but it's not labeled anywhere as anything other than historical and the short synopsis doesn't indicate a mystery. Feel free to choose another title.
DeleteOh well arrggg! I thought sure it was, lol! I'll make another choice then 😊
DeleteSo Elly did her ninja researching thing and discovered that Lost in Darkness is labeled both mystery and Gothic (eep!) under the paperback listing on Amazon but not the Kindle listing which has caused all kinds of confusion. So, yay, Elly for her relentless pursuit of genre justice -- bwahahaha -- and Trixi, I'm adding you in for this one too as a bonus apology for doubting you. :-)
DeleteAnd lastly, a new-to-me author/book I found on the Christian Book site:
ReplyDelete3. All That is Secret by Patricia Raybon~ October
This sounds fabulous! and it's the start of a mystery series. Great for readers who like to mix history with mystery! Good luck, Trixi!
Delete1) Labyrinth of Lies by Irene Hannon
ReplyDelete2) Shadows of Swanford Abbey by Julie Klassen
ReplyDeleteusedtextbooks5(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Good luck, Chanel!
Delete3) As Dawn Breaks by Kate Breslin
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Chanel!
DeleteSorry for so much confusion but I was seriously trying to research! I have never really looked much on Amazon for this, but I need to do so in the future! I will go with the Shadows at Swanford Abbey by Julie Klassen, which did sound like a whodunit in historical form. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, hunting out new releases is soooo frustrating because none of the online stores operate like a functional library catalogue. They keep sneaking in other suggestions based on their own algorithms which skew things terribly. Like, if I search for Christian Historical fiction, I'll get some, but they also sneak in general market books likely based on their top hits or whatever in hopes I'll be distracted. I just get irritated instead. lol It would be so helpful if publishers actually made it easy to search their sites but they don't for some strange reason. Sigh. Good luck, CC!
DeleteDeadly Connection by Kathy Harris Oct. 12, 2021
