DEATH VALLEY HIDEOUT
Running from a murderer with only the desert as refuge...
Placed in WITSEC while his brother testifies against a terrifying criminal, Tony Ortega must guard his young niece and nephew from the hit man hunting for them. Death Valley local Willow Duke's hideout might just be the difference between the little family's life or death. When bullets start flying, can they thwart a killer long enough to survive and become a family for real?
A Desert Justice story
My Review:
A page-turning, adrenaline-rush kind of read amped up even more because two young children are at the epicentre of a relentless and violent pursuit. Phew! You might need a spare oxygen tank for this one.
I'm especially drawn to the desert setting -- it's a foreign entity to me and not a location I get to spend much time visiting, in real life or fiction!
Love the Duke clan and the way they stand by each other. And I love that their family is growing thanks to former heroes and their lady loves. And there are still two more books in the series to look forward to! No worries if you haven't read any of the other books in the Desert Justice series, this one reads fine as a standalone...but I bet you won't be able to stop at just one!

DeleteOh yay, I have the first two in this series! And Dana did actual research in Death Valley California for these books to boot, so you know it's based on a real life setting. Yikes, all kinds of shivery (or maybe sweaty?) anticipation!
