Reader's Choice -- Romantic Suspense / Mystery Fiction

GIVEAWAY

IMPORTANT EDIT:
Due to an ongoing problem with issues posting comments on blogger using iPhones or Macs, I'm opening up all the Reader's Choice Week giveaways to email entries as well. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you can post in the comments do, it's much less work for me and so much more fun for everyone to see what other readers are looking forward to in new releases. Plus we all need the info so that we can add titles to our TBR lists!!!  Oh -- and please put in your subject line: the genre, so today would be Historical Fiction, and then in the body of the email put in all three of your choices.

Eeeepppp! Let's get started on compiling those beach read lists!

Reader's Choice Giveaway
Summer Bookfest Edition

So, here's how this thing works: You recommend CHRISTIAN FICTION titles with release dates in July, August, September 2022 (up to three suggestions per genre day) and you have a chance to win one of your recommendations! BUT it's a little more complicated than that so be sure to read ALL the details before entering.

IT'S ROMANTIC SUSPENSE / MYSTERY
GIVEAWAY DAY!

To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title(s) of the book(s) in the Romantic Suspense / Mystery genre you would like to win.

Romantic Suspense / Mystery -- a full length story or novella or collection of novellas where mystery is an important part of the plot. The hero or heroine (or both) are often in peril (more so in suspense) Can be set in any time period -- contemporary or historical and may cross genres such as YA, Amish etc and may include dual timelines.

How does it work?

Easy peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section and if you win, you win the book you suggested.

BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!

Publication dates must be
JULY, AUG, OR SEPT 2022
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer up to three suggestions
per genre day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier to tally)
Email entries  permissable
if you can't post a comment
entrants must submit their own selections
(no piggyback on someone else's log in)
Open to International Readers
(I'm all about spreading the good news
about Christian Fiction far and wide)

It's helpful to include your email (using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers) but you only need to add it to one of your comments per day. If you choose not to include your email, then it's up to you to contact me if you are a winner.

Draw will be held and winner announced on
Saturday July 2 2022

It is so hard to find a good mystery suspense that isn't too violent or creepy. My creep meter is set to low, very low, lol.
    Thanks for the giveaways Kav!

    1. Tracey, did you see my 3rd choice? - thanks to Trixi! It sounds a little like Sunburst, doesn't it? It'd have to be awfully good to compare, tho!

    2. Now that's author dedication! But I have noticed the creep factor rising in some of our Christian romantic suspense. Lots of serial killer stuff going on. Shudder. Good luck, Tracey!

      Delete
    3. Exactly Kav, I don't mind danger and risky stuff, a few explosions even murder mystery, but some writers have upped the ante to serial murders, human trafficking and extreme violence. No thanks, that doesn't work for me! I think the best writers are the ones who can imply the danger without spelling it out graphically. I do love solving the mysteries though.

    4. Diane, I have seen that book by Hallie Bridgeman, I just went and read the first couple of chapters on amazon too. I don't usually see that "look insde" feature before a release. I read some of it, sounded good!

      Delete
    5. Usually they don't have that look inside feature yet. I'll have to check it out. Thanks, Tracey!

    6. Tracey, I just finished reading Mary Alford's book which has a serial killer in it and Nancy Mehl's last one that I read last week was a serial killer and a couple of the LIS were serial killer themed! So I was going to pick up Jessica Patch's new LI trade on audible but it is also about a serial killer!!!! So I'll wait a few weeks and see if I can find a tamer murder book -- bwahahaha!

      Delete
    7. I know I can't handle it Kav! I used to read all Jessica Patch's books but I can't do that one, too creepy!
I just finished Driving Force by Kate Angelo (mentored by Lynette Eason and playing off the Elite Guardian series, which I have not read) I thought it was very good. The killer wasn't the main theme of the story though, it was more about stopping the killer from using chemical weapons developed by the military. It has a Belgian Malinois named Boss you will love who all but steals the show, so I'm recommending this one to you! (I checked, it's on Audiobook)

      Delete
    8. I forgot to mention the hero Grey is in a wheelchair and Boss is his retired military dog, so not your average run of the mill suspense or romance :) Diverse characters!

      Delete
    9. You're right -- I loved that book and Boss was the best K-9 ever. And so funny how the heroine is peeved that she has to play body guard to a dog. Bwahahaha! Met a Belgian Malnois on the bus yesterday -- a service dog. Such a noble creature.

    10. Looking back at your sidebar now I see you've read this one, so good! I think I was getting ready to leave on vacation then and missed this review, but all the yeses on this one!

  16. The Italian Ballerina by Kristy Cambron. Paperback version is shown in mystery/suspense bestseller group by Amazon. Would this fit?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Argh -- this is a conundrum. I don't think it fits the suspense category. It looks like the only mystery is a family one in the present day. None of the earlier reviewers on GR have mentioned a mystery or tagged it as such so, sorry...this one isn't a fit for today's giveaway. Feel free to choose another.

      Delete
  17. A Feeling of Home by Susan Anne Mason. Similar on Amazon under Kindle version. This is confusing to me!?!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Same with this one -- there isn't even a hint of a mystery in teh blurb and no one has tagged it as a mystery...not even the author on her homepage. Amazon can be so strange at times. I don't know who makes up the tags -- publisher? author? some random guy who knows nothing? (likely.) Feel free to choose another one.

    1. While I'm thrilled about this one, it isn't Christian Fiction. :-( Published by Berkley and word about the Booktube-osphere is that it isn't cozy. Have no idea what the content will contain -- language etc. and very probably no faith thread. So, not for this giveaway. Feel free to pick another title.

      Delete
    2. Oh rats! That's funny too because it's listed on Christianbooks.com under "coming soon". Okay so I'll go with Tina's first Love Inspired suspense....😯

      2. Sabotaged Mission by Tina Radcliffe (July)

      Delete
    3. That's very strange because I've noticed that Christian book.com doesn't have some of the more faith-based general market Amish books - I guess they are going by Amanda Flower's reputation with her cozy mystery series but this one is definitely not that. I'll be reading it though so I'll let you know what I think. I'm excited for Tina's suspense debut! Good luck!
