GIVEAWAY |
Help my plan my New Year reading by recommending new releases with publication dates in June, July or August 2017 and you could win one of the books you recommend. Here's how:
IT'S AMISH FICTION GIVEAWAY DAY!!!!!
To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title of the book(s) in the Amish Fiction genre you'd like to win.
AMISH FICTION : A story where the hero or heroine (or both) are Amish OR the story has significant Amish involvement with secondary characters and Amish community. Can be historical or contemporary and can include a suspense or mystery element.
How does it work?
Easy-peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section each day and if you win the draw, you win the book you suggested.
BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!
Publication dates must be
June, July or August 2017
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer three suggestions per day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier for me to tally)
No email entries this week
(too hard to keep track of due to the
# of responses)
Open to International readers (I'm all about spreading the Good News about Christian Fiction all over the globe!!!!!!)
Please remember to include your email, using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers. Draw will be held and winner announced on
Sunday May 21 2017.
I'm so excited for all the new fiction coming out in the next few months...so many books, so little time...lol!! I'm going with an author I've not heard of, but the book sounds good :-)
ReplyDelete#1 Abiding Mercy by Ruth Reid (July)
Looks like this might be (?) the beginning book of a new series called Amish Mercies.
How 'bout a shout-out for novellas?
ReplyDelete#2 An Amish Gathering: Life in Lancaster County by Beth Wiseman, Kalthleen Fuller & Barbara Cameron (August)
#3 An Amish Summer: Four Novellas by Shelley Shepard Gray, Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller & Kelly Irvin (June)
ReplyDeleteteamob4 (at) gmail (dot) com
P.S. I see lots of ones coming out by Amy Clipston, but since I haven't kept up with them, it would be too hard to get into without reading every single one...lol! Oh the dilemma of a reader sometimes!
Trixi, that second one -- An Amish Gathering -- was published in 2009. At least, that's what I found on CBD. So, do you want to save this one for Retro Saturday and choose another?
DeleteFunny, I was just looking over my Amish bookshelves this week and came across Ruth Reid. Realized I haven't read anything by her since her angel series so I'm excited about this one. And what a powerhouse of authors in An Amish Summer -- excited because Kelly Irvin's one is set in Bee County. Woot! Good luck, Trixi.
Well, dag-nabbit!! I went to CBD.com and clicked on their "Coming Soon" under their fiction selection and it listed this as August 2017. After doing more research, I see where it did release in 2009. I really dislike when they do that. It may be a re-release or something, I dunno! :-( Anyway, thanks for having my back on this one. I'll make a different choice:
Delete#2 Their Pretend Amish Courtship by Patricia Davids (part of the Amish Bachelors series)~ June 2017
I really love the LI line of Amish stories :-)
Oh -- I just read this one. Delightfully funny! I love Patricia Davids. Good luck, Trixi.
DeleteDid you say funny? Right to my tbr!! Although I tend to always put Patricia Davids on there. :)
Delete'An Amish Summer: Four Novellas' by Shelley Shepard Gray, Amy Clipston, Kathleen Fuller & Kelly Irvin – June 2017

Assaulted Caramel (An Amish Candy Shop Mystery #1) by Amanda Flower
ReplyDeletedandtdearing (at) roadrunner (dot) com
I'm all in a tizzy over that last one, Tammi. I LOVE Amanda Flower and her quirky cozy mysteries. I knew she had a new Amish one coming out but I didn't realize it was this summer. Eeeeeeepppp!!! And what a killer title. Her books are so clever. Good luck, Tammi.
DeleteI haven't read any books by her yet, but
Deletethe cover and title, as well as, the description intrigued me.
Good morning, Kav!

Wow -- I didn't know Jan Drexler had a LIH coming out this summer! I know she has Naomi's Hope with Revell coming out in Juen but this is a happy surprise. And I just read Dana's first Amish LIS a few months ago and voila here's another one. Happy dancing! Good luck, Jackie.
DeleteI love Amish Fiction, so choosing just three books is very hard! Here are my choices:
ReplyDelete1. The Divide by Jolina Petersheim
June 6th 2017
melodybissonnette AT gmail DOT com
2. Gathering the Threads by Cindy Woodsmall
ReplyDeleteAugust 15th 2017
melodybissonnette AT gmail DOT com
3. Abiding Mercy by Ruth Reid
ReplyDeleteJuly 4th 2017
melodybissonnette AT gmail DOT com
I love the Amish genre too. Excited about the Divide -- and a little scared too. LOL I find the theme unsettling -- it almost spooks me out more than a suspense -- but I have to know what happens next! Good luck, Melody.
DeleteWell, don't shoot me yall, but I'm going to be honest, It has to be more than just Amish fiction to draw me, it has to have some other interesting component, an historical aspect, a suspense, or journal/letter angle (those always appeal to me). And I like to try a new author every month or so.
ReplyDeleteSo, my first pick has the letter draw, a pretty cover and is a new author to me;
#1 The Promise of a Letter by Kathleen Fuller 8/15

I want to read this series badly, but like you it kind of spooks me out. Not enough to deter me, though. Also, there are way more suspense books that you read, Kav, that spook me out more! Cue the chills. Bwahaha!

Oh, glad it reached you! I dunno -- I think The Divide freaks me out because I know how helpless I'd be in that situation and I kind of had a taste of it when we had a huge power outage that lasted for days a number of years ago. But, like you, I'm still going to read The Divide. Good luck, Terrill.
