Reader's Choice - Retro Christian Fiction

GIVEAWAY

It's Retro Saturday -- time to celebrate the books from previous years that got away!

IT'S RETRO CHRISTIAN FICTION GIVEAWAY DAY!!!!!

To be entered in the draw just leave a comment (or 3) below, including the title of the book(s) in the Retro Christian Fiction genre you'd like to win.

What is Retro Fiction? -- Any Christian Fiction book published in 2016 or earlier. You can choose books from any genre. This is a chance to catch up on a great book you missed first time round.

How does it work?
Easy-peasy! Make recommendations in the comment section each day and if you win the draw, you win the book you suggested.

BUT YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!
Publication dates must be
2016 or earlier
Each day is genre specific so
only submit books from that genre
Christian Fiction books only please!
You can offer three suggestions per day
BUT
they need to be made in
three separate comments
(makes it easier for me to tally)
No email entries this week
(too hard to keep track of due to the
# of responses)
Open to International readers (I'm all about spreading the Good News about Christian Fiction all over the globe!!!!!!)
Please remember to include your email, using AT and DOT instead of @ and . to protect yourself from spammers. Draw will be held and winner announced on
Sunday May 21 2017.

  2. First pick is a book by Irene Hannon. I've only read her Suspense books, but I had the opportunity to read & review her contemporary entitled "Sandpiper Cove" (bk 3 in the Hope Harbor series), it was just as good!! Kept me glued to the pages & connected to the characters. I picked up a copy of Sea Rose Lane (bk 2) from a second hand store while visiting my sister-in-law recently that I'm hoping to get to once I dwindle my TBR pile down. Saying all that to say this, I'd like to complete the set by choosing:

#1 Hope Harbor by Irene Hannon (Hope Harbor series bk 1) ~ June 2015

    ReplyDelete
  3. #2 The Midwifes Choice by Delia Parr (At Home in Trinity bk 2)~ November 2015

I have the ebook of The Midwifes Tale (bk 1) already :-)

  4. And finally, a book that will be enjoyed by both my husband and I:

#3 Murder at the Courthouse by A.H. Gabhart (Hidden Springs Mysteries bk 1)~ October 2015

I won the second book (Murder Comes By Mail), which my husband read and enjoyed. He said it was excellent :-)
Thanks for doing the readers choice week...I have added so many more books to my want-to-read list!

    1. Oh yes, you must read all the Hope Harbor books. And there's even a book four coming out -- next year maybe? I'm so excited. Love Irene Hannon's characters. I never want to leave Hope Harbor! Good luck, Trixi.

    2. Love Irene's books and was introduced to her by a dear friend on this blog!!! Since then, I have read MANY of her books (even some older LI)!! Can't wait for Book 4.

    3. Yes for Irene, the book is entitled Pelican Point(e?) coming out sometime next year. I can't remember when she said either. In the meantime, a new suspense series is coming in October called Code of Honor. First one is Dangerous Illusions, it's already on my must-read list :-)

    4. Thanks, Trixi, I was searching myself ..so glad you found the info.
Saw this on her FB page:

So after Sandpiper Cove, coming in April 2017, I'll be revisiting Hope Harbor for at least two more books. I hope you'll come along with me to this charming seaside village—where hearts heal…and love blooms.

    5. You guys get the prize for intrepid book sleuths!!! I need to sign up on more author FB pages.

I was hoping for more Hope Harbor -- Charley has really caught my fancy and I'm hoping we get to know more about him. :-) And there was one scene that screamed suspense to me so I want to know what she does with that. Thanks for the update ladies.

    1. Jackie, I am on her street team (an early read/review group) and she also has a whole line of Love Inspired Suspense too, with another series starting in July. I'll list them for you. Also, if you want to learn more about her, she had a author website. Just type her name (Jessica R. Patch) in your web browser and it should take you there. You can also sign up for her newsletter on there. Here's the LIS ones, these are under Jessica R. Patch:

      1 Fatal Reunion
      2 Protective Duty
      3 Concealed Identity
      4 Final Verdict

And the new series (The Security Specialists)
      1 Deep Waters~ July release

She also had a whole line-up of contemporary that she wrote before she made it into Love Inspired. I hope this helps you to discover a new author. She's super nice and has a great sense of humor!
