My Review:

The Marshal's Mission has all the classic elements that made epic Western movies such beloved hits. The damsel in distress comes in the form of a beleaguered widow who is trying to hold on to her ranch. An impossible task considering she's up against a ruthless land baron. Cue our hero -- the mysterious stranger, cloaked in secrets. He's kind and compassionate, quick to defend and ready to stand by Leonora's side -- something no one else in the community is willing to do. But she's jaded when it comes to men and she isn't about to trust another one! Luckily her son is more discerning and provides the perfect bridge between these two troubled souls.

The story is evenly paced with the author allowing time for romance to blossom despite the nefarious designs of the diabolical villain. What is a desperate widow to do but enter into a marriage of convenience that turns out to be anything but convenient?!

Plenty of action and intrigue and a blockbuster ending bring an edgy mix to this sweet historical romance.
