HIDDEN WITNESS
The ranch was her safe haven...but now she's been found
As the only witness to a murder, FBI defense attorney Annalise Rivers has no choice but to enter witness protection on a remote dude ranch. But after an attempt on her life, Annalise must rely on the ranch's owner, former navy SEAL MacArthur Davis, to keep her safe. And Mas will do whatever it takes to help Annalise live to testify...even if it costs him his future.
My Review:
This right here is why Shirley McCoy is high up on my auto-buy list. She delivers a wonderful balance of romance and suspense in this gripping page-turner. The opening scene is t-e-n-s-e!!! And I loved the rollercoaster of highs and lows that catapulted me to the must-take-a-breath-or-I'm-gonna-pass-out ending.
McCoy knows how to draw out a suspenseful scene and how to sneak in a toe-curling one with just the right amount of description to make a reader feel like she's actually experiencing the bite of the cold or the terror of discovery or the sweet comfort of a touch. And that makes me one very enthralled reader.
Unputdownable!

DeleteDefinitely would love to read her books 📚 Thanks Kav
DeleteLOVE romance and suspense and when it starts from page one you know it's going to be a great book. Great cover which leads the mind in all directions even before you open the cover. Wonderful author whose books always get on my TBR list but sadly not read as quickly sometimes as I would prefer.

Yes. Back in the day when we had a Christian bookstore in town I used to love reading the first few pages of a suspense to get a feel for the kind of story it would be. Now I have to count on the cover and back blurb for that preview so it's a bonus when I find an author like Shirlee McCoy who I trust will deliver the kind of suspense I love. Good luck, Kay!
DeleteIsn't it sad how Christian bookstores are becoming obsolete? After our larger corporate chain Christian store closed down, I thought our little conservative Christian town (with it's record number of churches. Seriously, look it up! Lol) would fall to the same fate. Fortunately, the manager of that previous store found a partner and opened up his own store. He's even managed to keep it going through all of this Corona business.
DeleteYou are so right - Shirley McCoy always delivers a good suspense story!
